We were going up to Moab last week. Thank God we decided not to go. The Jeep event was going on this weekend and thousands were up there. You would have to wait an hour just to get on a trail much less actually move along it. Finding somewhere to camp forget it. What a zoo.
But the best thing that came out of this is we stayed in Bluff which is 100 miles south on Hwy 191.
We stayed at Coral Sands RV park. It has huge spaces both long and wide. It was quite. The owners were very friendly and helped a lot. We rode trails everyday and you could go for as long as you wanted. Explored mines and saw Anasazi ruins. Fabulous scenery. Took a ride over to Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods. The best thing was we never had to deal with a ton of other people or riders. There is fuel in town and a general store. A few good restaurants. We'll go back.
p.s.
You do need to be street legal because of a small amount of pavement or have a trailer. If you don't have an RV to stay in there are cabins and other places to stay.
