Usa Ride Command 2017 XPT

Guys...i am seeing tons of pictures and videos of ride command being installed in 2016 and earlier. Has anyone installed ride command in a 2017 XPT with the digital instrument cluster? Is it plug and play or will i still need to fiddle with the factory wire harness? Thanks in advance, i have searched until exhaustion on this.

search YouTube, there are video's that show what you have to do. I think the hardest part is you have to switch the current plug for one that has more pins since there is more going on with the ride command.

Hu I don't know, the one I'm thinking about showed them switching out the plug but I can't remember if it had the digital display or the older analog one. I can't imagine that it would be much different. But I don't know for sure.

Yes, there is still some fiddling with the factory harness. I'm not very electrical savvy. Took about an hour and half, instructions were easy to follow.

Re: Ride Command 2017 XPT

You need to buy the install kit as well. It comes with everything needed - dash, wiring, cameras, antenna, brackets. I installed it in my 2018 XPT and it was pretty straight forward. The connector for the older round gauge is the same for the new digital one so everything in the instructions for the pin modifications is the same.

Thank you, that is what I was expecting. I was just hoping for plug and play!

Re: Ride Command 2017 XPT

It is pretty much plug and play. You just need the install kit. There is no physical way for the ride command display to fit in the dash for the older gauge.
