New XP Turbo owner!

Well I joined the club and traded in my 2017 RZR S1K for a 2018 XPT Walker Evans.

https://youtu.be/eZoHOn0yne0

Needless to say, the difference in ride quality between an S chassis and an XP is very noticeable.

Also, with no turbo lag the low end torque is awesome and the entire power band trounces a stock 1000 engine.

2017 RZR S1K Black Stealth
2013 RZR 800 LE

Re: New XP Turbo owner!

Now you just need to upgrade the suspension. If you plan on putting any speed to it, those WE shocks aren't going to be able to keep up.

Agreed, after getting a 2018 XPT4 walker Evans a few months ago, I was expecting to be impressed by the suspension vs. my 2016 S1000, I was not.
There is definitely a need to upgrade these crappy shocks.
I'm wondering if I should have paid the extra 3k for a fox edition?

Re: New XP Turbo owner!

Congrats. I'm following in your footsteps with one on order. I went with the fox though. My price difference was 2k CDN$ with the walkers. So about 1.4kUSD.

That's interesting, as I had the 2017 S1000 which most agree the WE shocks on that machine were an improvement over the previous S1K shocks.

The ride quality is improved quite a bit on the XP versus the S. I still have a feeling the S1K would be a better rock crawler than the XP, but anything over 5mph and the XP should easily beat it.

For looser gravel and rocks I didn't care for the handling of the Bighorns, but I am changing my mind with snowpack and powder. Bighorns have been awesome in the snow.

I could see myself going with a Winter wheelset of the factrory wheels and Bighorns and a Summer wheelset with likely 32" Terrabites.

So, I'll admit I am coming around on the Bighorn hate, they are actually are pretty good, especially in snow.
