HCT split tanks or Reflex fan kit??

Getting ready to add some performance goodies to my rzr and I want to start with a cooling upgrade. I can't decide between the Reflex cooling kit or the HTC split tank cooling system. What are your opinions? Which one is the biggest bang for the buck? Anyone running both?

Re: HCT split tanks or Reflex fan kit??

I'm running Reflex suspension on my XP1K and I love it! Me and my riding crew spent few days over the last camp RZR in Glamis and it was super hot, three of them runs Reflex cooling and they never got overheated.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I just installed the HCT on mine and the tank doesn't extend past the frame tube behind the radiator.

Thanks for the input! I'm kinda leaning towards the Reflex kit (Extreme version), then maybe pick up the HTC kit on their black Friday sale. Last black Friday they had a killer deal on them, $100 off. I'm hoping they do that again, if not just get one anyways for some extra protection.

Re: HCT split tanks or Reflex fan kit??

The HCT split tank system actually works, but as mentioned wait until they run another sale. It's basically a duel overflow tank, a washer that replaces thermostat & a plug that blocks off engine internal bypass coolant line forcing 100% of coolant to radiator. It does its job as described, just not worth the normal msrp in my opinion......

Re: HCT split tanks or Reflex fan kit??

I run the Reflex cooling extreme edition and it works perfect, I ride hard in with my 4 seater in SoCal.
Why would anyone want to deal with that split tank? I installed the Reflex by myself, too me one hour with no drilling or welding, the product designed to install on stock parts.

I ended up ordering the Reflex Pro kit yesterday, hope it's worth it. I thought about getting the Extreme kit. The engine module that comes with the Extreme kit lowers your fan turn on temperature correct? Im getting a tune in the future so I will do that with the tune. Glad to hear the install is pretty simple, thx!

Maybe because they don't want a 200deg intercooler trying to cool their IAT...... Duh !!

Re: HCT split tanks or Reflex fan kit??

I'm running the split tank. Tried it out in Glamis for a week in mid Feb. Air temps were in the mid 80s. During hard dune runs I think 198 was the hottest engine temp I saw and most of the time it was running around 190. Previous to the tank mod in similar air temps it would run around 215 with spikes up in the low 220's.
Plus, you get a much cooler intercooler temp.

Re: HCT split tanks or Reflex fan kit??

I have the split tank set up, but due to winter temps and leaving in two weeks for my trip, I have not got it installed yet...but one never knows. If I have a slow day I may crack it out quick. Most likely it will be when I return.
