Audio Help Needed - MB Quart Door Speakers

Hello All,

I am looking into adding audio (Bluetooth) capability to my new Turbo. I am wanting a factory look and reliability. I saw a new 17 XP 1000 special edition with the new MB Quart door speakers and liked how it looked. Any one have experience with these speakers?

I am looking to get the Polaris package that includes a 300 watt amplifier and Bluetooth control unit.

I am also considering the MTX overhead console and the SSV roof set up. I am wanting to stay around $600 total.

Thank you for the help,

Joe

Re: Audio Help Needed - MB Quart Door Speakers

we just did a customers machine that had the complete MB quartz package. The speakers on the cage, the door speakers, the whole deal from Polaris.

He took it out and went with a sound bar. We still have the back speakers if you are interested in them call the shop at 479-434-4161.

I will say, a budget of $600 is pretty low for what you describe. Those items are pretty pricey....

Re: Audio Help Needed - MB Quart Door Speakers

I have the door speakers and in dash radio bundle kit. It pumps out great sound, more so even than I hoped it would. I also have the MB extreme pods and both together really rock! If I knew how good the door speakers were I may have just went with them. Only downside is the FM radio reception sucks, but I never use it anyway and honestly never looked into the problem yet, too busy riding and jamming The in dash head unit is the best BT pairing device I have used with an iPhone as far was automatic pairing and being able to pause, skip forward or backward by taping a button on the heading is really nice. You can put you phone away and forget about it.

Re: Audio Help Needed - MB Quart Door Speakers

Those speaker setups are TERRIBLE.

Go with a Wetsounds Stealth6 or Stealth 10 Sound bar and down the line you can add in a SSV Works Glovebox subwoofer with it for a truly great sound and simple install.

If you want to go with a speaker route you can do SSV Works lower kick pod enclosures $150, JL Audio Bluetooth Controller $100, JL Audio MX280/4 Amplifier $250, and Lower speakers of your choice we've been doing the Marine JL speakers $299. This setup will allow you to add two rears in down the line.

But seriously ease of effort, Wetsounds Stealth 6 or Stealth 10.

So are you saying I do not know what I am talking about??? Have you actually heard this system??? It just became available a little over and month ago. I not only own it but I have heard many other and I have pretty high standards in stereo systems. I have a full blown JL system in my boat so I know good sound. You come on here trashing something I seriously doubt you have never heard just to try to sell something you are pushing....not a good way to get business in my opinion.

Matt the amps have to be tuned and then both the door speakers and PODs flat out rock. I could not imagine anyone wanting more sound. Anyone that has heard mine turned up are blown away by it.

Re: Audio Help Needed - MB Quart Door Speakers

Yeah they are super easy to tune and as they come the sound was weak so I was worried but with just an easy twist of the screw WOW. Same way with the door amp and the pods. In just a few minutes I was able to balance the sound out to give a great full sound where one was not over powering the other.

Guys, thank you for the great responses.

I am definitely wanting that clean factory look the door speakers give. I do not like the look of speakers stuck every which way personally. I also am not interested in enough sound to blow me out of the RZR ether. I am simply looking for a good sounding, clean, reliable set up. So far this system sounds like it will meet my needs.

I am now torn between the FM radio or simply the Bluetooth controller. Anyone have a picture of the in dash radio? Any experience with the MB Bluetooth controller?

I've been doing audio for 15 years, i'm not here to start an argument at all. I have two machines sitting in my showroom with those door speakers and Polaris amps. I sell ALL of the products you talked about, and I talked about so there's no agenda behind me pushing one or the other besides what we know works best.

I've used those MB Quart Rear in multiple builds. They're huge and obtrusive.

For the money spent, there are much better and simpler options in my professional opinion. I'm not saying your machine sounds terrible, but if you'd like to me break it down further I can.

Polaris utilize proprietary wire harness, connectors, and cables to hook up their speaker systems. They often get costly and turn into a big night mare to install rather than using Power, Ground, Remote, accessory, Speaker Wire, RCA's, ETC. You're paying a lot of money for Polaris to put their Margin, The dealer, and the actual manufacture. So in all theory you end up going away from the Polaris Stereo, You can save a little dough and a little head ache.

But that's just my opinion. FWIW

I found the install extremely easy with the new MB quart stuff. I have also built completely custom systems and that is where you end up getting nickeled and dimed to death and having to figure everything out. The MB Quart kits come 100% complete, sans the running a power cable to the Polaris Terminal block. To get the sound the 8" extreme Pods put out you have to go to an 8" speaker pod (all of which are big) and in most if not all cases an external amp. Nothing quality and waterproof is going to install as easy and take up less space, especially for the money. I got a great deal on the pods also, you just have to shop around, I got 15% on them. You said they were The MB Quart stuff mentions was "terrible". I say they are not installed or tuned right because there is nothing terrible about them, in fact they are excellent, easy to install and great loud clear sound when tuned right.

I got a deal on the bundle which actually gave me the In Dash unit, amp (that slickly mounts on the frame under the dash and the speakers. I think all the door speakers come with the round BT controller which I did not need and will be selling.
You can see the one picture of the radio in one of the above pictures and here is a close up. It really looks nice and clean.

I was never a fan of how pods look in general but I don't think these look bad at all

Expat, do you mind me asking how you tune the amp? I have the factory installed system that came with my ride command. I'd like to see if i can get some better sound out of it. I looked on MB Quarts website and i couldn't find a manual for the Amplifier.

Re: Audio Help Needed - MB Quart Door Speakers

The amp that mounts on the firewall frame under the dash has a screw on the back of it that turns the input up. Pods, if you have them have a screw under the plug on the back cover.
