Nm Flag re: Official Turbo recall thread UPDATED recall and extended warranty information

Here is the information we’d like you to share:

Today, Polaris announced that they have an approved corrective-action plan for its RZR XP Turbo vehicles, following the stop-sale/stop-ride advisory in late July. Owners of model-year 2016 RZR XP Turbo vehicles can now contact their dealer to arrange for service, and Polaris will be giving all 2016 RZR XP Turbo owners an additional 12 months of warranty.

In addition, all owners of recalled RZR 900 or 1000 vehicles who have their recall work completed by the end of 2016 will receive either a 12-month warranty extension for vehicles that were in warranty at the time of the recall, or a $250 voucher for accessories for vehicles that were out of warranty. All owners with recalled RZRs also qualify for a $1,000 loyalty discount on the purchase of any Polaris side-by-side between now and the end of 2017.

http://www.cpsc.gov/en/recalls/recal...hicles/#remedy

2016 RZR XP Turbo /XP4 Turbo models were manufactured with the following concerns:

1. turbo charger oil drain fastener may loosen allowing a release of engine oil regardless of z-15-04 being completed or not.

2. ECU engine control unit may allow the engine to continue to run in an extreme overheat condition which could result in damage to the cylinder head or cylinder head gasket allowing a release of engine oil or coolant which may pose a fire hazard.

This bulletin also instructs dealers to inspect heat shields, replace heat shield fasteners, and update a fuel warning decal. Additionally, the revised calibration includes misfire detection that will prevent the engine from operating in a misfire condition.

RZR Customers,

I have two pieces of RZR recall news to share with you today.

First, for Turbo owners, as you know, in late July we asked you to stop riding your RZR Turbo vehicles because of potential issues. Since then, we have been doing intensive testing to make sure we have the right solution, and as of today the corrective action is in place. Owners of model-year 2016 RZR Turbo vehicles can now contact their dealer to arrange for service.

Second, to every RZR owner impacted by our recalls, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of having to bring your vehicle in for repair, as well as any lost riding time. While we cannot return your lost time, we will be sending you a letter extending a small token of our appreciation.

All 2016 Turbo owners will receive an additional 12 months of warranty. All owners of recalled RZR 900 or 1000 vehicles will receive either a 12-month warranty extension for vehicles that were in warranty at the time of the recall, or a $250 voucher for accessories for vehicles that were out of warranty. Both of these offers become valid if you have the required recall work completed before the end of 2016.

In addition, we are extending a $1,000 loyalty discount on the purchase of any Polaris side-by-side between now and the end of 2017. This discount is in addition to all other promotions, so significant savings are possible. You will receive detailed information in the mail by mid-September.

Your safety is our number-one priority, so please have the recall work completed as soon as possible, and do not ride your RZR until you do so.

On behalf of the entire Polaris family, I want to extend my sincere apologies and assure you that Polaris, and your RZRs, will be much better going forward.

Scott Wine

Chairman and CEO, Polaris

Good to hear they are trying to make up for the recall and other items by extending warranties.

So I'm guessing the additional 12mo warranty starts after my 6mo warranty expired? So if I got my RZR a year ago I now have 6months warranty starting today?
