Ticking sound from front end (see video)

I know there are several posts on this already but I was hoping with an audio file someone would immediately have an idea what the problem is. Iíve already tried the grab bar and brakes.

The sound appears to be coming from the general area of the front differential.

This is a 2019 Turbo S 4 with 120 hours. Thoughts?

It happens at around 20 mph... itís easier to reproduce at deceleration but a light foot around that speed with have a similar result.

Can you feel any vibration or anything?

My guess is itís something resonating at a certain vibration frequency but I donít notice any vibrations that Iíd consider unusual.

2WD/4WD make any difference? Sounds like a rock bouncing around in something really

Could be the pinion bearing, might take a look at the prop shaft and make sure it's not rubbing against something

Really sounds like something rattling around on top of the skidplate maybe, or hung up in a wheel or centercap... that's a tough one

I removed the entire skid plate before making that clip. There actually was a rock sitting there and I was initially excited... it wasnít it tho!

Re: Ticking sound from front end (see video)

Pull the center console and check to see if the noise is originating from the hanger bearing.

I found it... turned out to be super simple. Tab below the cup holder was resting against one of the metal tubes. Pulled the tube slightly out of the way and no more ticking sound. Thankful it wasnít drive train related!
