High clearance radius rod recommendations

Just bought a '19 Turbo S 4 Velocity and it doesn't have the arched radius rods like the Turbo S does. What are you guys using for aftermarket radius rods?

Does anyone have the ones made by Special Carriers? I like the fact they are made from steel and very beefy. I've only seen one picture of them laying on a bench and would love to see an installed picture if anyone has one.

Thanks!

SCM makes some of the best parts available. I've run their stuff for years, top notch.

Southern land riders has an install video on YouTube. I live close to SCM and have seen them in person and they are unreal heavy duty. I wished they were arched a little more but I don't think you will bend them. Also Clint and his family are good people.

Nrp sells his billet kit in 3 colors. Red, blue or black. I think it's 500 bucks if you call him to order. 2 buddy's in my group run them on their turbo s rigs

Thanks for the heads up on the video. I watched it and those things are massive! Wish they would've showed the radius rods better

Thanks for the heads up on NRP. I hadn't seen those yet.

Those do look nice.

Seems machined aluminum is common. I wonder if the aluminum could break if they take a good hit? I guess if they hold up it doesn't matter what they are made of. It appears the Special Carriers doesn't have as much of an arch and therefore not as much ground clearance. I'm sure they're indestructible so probably doesnt matter how much of an arch they have.

I looked at the turbo s stuff while I was there it is easily twice as big as my xp 1000 rods and ends. I asked about the AL rods and they said they are not as strong as steel.

The nrp stuff is super stout! We are talking these nrp radius rods are solid 6061 aluminum that's damn near 1.75" around. They also have mxm-10 chromoly heims. Very very hard to hurt parts this size unless you have some serious driver error. 6061 also has memory so it will bounce back to it's original form if hit. Within reason obviously.

Re: High clearance radius rod recommendations

I wouldnt buy NRP again. Had them on my XPT. If you care for the story, search for it on here. Bummer too because the parts were beautiful and I prefer to support small shops.
Just sayin...look elsewhere.

Hmm that's crazy cuz i had them on 2 machines as well as of the 8 people I ride with 4 of them have nrp radius rods and tie rod kits. We have never had a issue. We have worn heims out but that's about it. Only time I have seen a radius rod wiped out is after the one guy caught a tree with his rear tire doing 50. Broke the trailing arm and bent up both radius rods. But that's driver error not a part issue. Not all products are perfect and anything can get messed up. I just know my experience was great and so have the others in my group.

Re: High clearance radius rod recommendations

Can the NRP radius rods be used with the stock Polaris rear bumper or you have to use a different rear gusset plate

Re: High clearance radius rod recommendations

So you didnt read the other thread with pictures. I never said they failed.

Short version: They (the XPT version anyway) are made with the wrong lower angle and cause an interference with the caliper bolt head. Said interference cause a huge leveraged stress point on the cast aluminum hub. When I told the one man shop owner (forget his name now) he said he sold thousand and never heard that before - his words. I got on RZRforums and several others had the same interference and stated that they had told him before my purchase based on dates provided. I assume he had stock on the shelves and wanted to burn it down. The denying is what soured my opinion. There are pics in the other thread. OWN IT!!!!!!
