Crossthreaded walker evans right rear shock:(

So, while working on installing my new stage 4 kits from shock therapists, while threading the ring to the top of the shock, got stuck, then looks to be cross threaded. Need to ship In-N-Out to get repaired or just buy a new right rear shock with no springs. Suggestions? This sucks. I wish there was someone in Cincinnati that could fix it.

Re: Crossthreaded walker evans right rear shock:(

Did it cross near the top of the threads or down by the spring? I would look for a new nut, cut that one off, use a thread file to clean up the threads. Then, long as nut is not on the bad spot when the preload is set I wouldn't worry about it.

Ya theres a few threads on this. . . . I ended up getting Warrenty on mine cuz happened in first couple months. . . They now come with anodized black looking nuts because of this. Does yours have those? You have to make sure it so so so absolutely cleaned out before u try and turn anything. Not sure if anyone makes a 2 piece nut u can clamp on after cutting yours off. If not you have to disassemble the whole shock/oil/pressure I'm pretty sure to thread it on from the top.
