Trailing arm mud/rock flaps for HCR arms?

Has anyone produced a mud flap kit for HCR Racing trailing arms?

Thanks

Re: Trailing arm mud/rock flaps for HCR arms?

I contacted HCR and they didn't have any input as to whether any of the currently available aftermarket kits would work or not. There are a few kits out there, but I plan to get a set of these and modify as necessary to make them work.

The LSR flaps do not fit the HCR arm. FYI

Re: Trailing arm mud/rock flaps for HCR arms?

Hey guys, I know this is thread has been inactive for a while but I came up with a trailing arm guard/mud flap setup that uses the HCR sway bar mounting location. I am in the testing phase right now to make sure everything fits and lines up correctly, and then once I produce some metal prototypes I will probably be testing them to check durability. Attached are some pictures of what I have planned along with some pictures of my CAD model. FYI I am a full-time college student so I'm doing this in my spare time over break so I will try and keep posting updates of my progress.

Below are 3D printed prototypes to check tolerances and start the design of the mudflap itself. I'm sure many of you know, but the inside of the trailing arm gets peppered with rocks and other debris, so I wanted to make sure the flap was both long and wide enough to prevent this from happening.

Here is what I plan the mudflap to look like. I plan on using polyethylene resin mudflap which is pretty strong, so I don't have any worries about the lack of support on the farther edges of the mudflap. I also allowed space for the bolt along with the brake line that runs through this area. A longer sway bar bolt may be needed in order to accommodate for the added material.

I've spent a lot of time measuring and design this and am very proud of how it turned out for the first time "reverse engineering" a part and trying to make everything fit and line up. If you have any comments or concerns about it let me know, and I'll try and keep everyone updated on the progress so far. Going to see if any local shops to me like HMF or EMP would like to help out with this project!

I like your design and it looks to be easily adaptable to just about any brand trailing arm.

Thanks, I may have to modify/reinforce some areas depending on what i find with testing but I wanted to make it simple. They are relatively small pieces and one I get them laser cut out of steel I believe they will be strong enough.

Will do! Talked with a local company to get some prototypes made up for testing. Should be made in a few weeks so I will post updates on the progress.

Just wanted to post an update on the prototype. I was able to get the guard cut out and will be testing shortly after the brackets come in. They are looking good!

Re: Trailing arm mud/rock flaps for HCR arms?

I got the first set installed. Clearance looks good on everything and as you can see it protects everything that previously got destroyed by rocks. I'll be seeing how these hold up and if any changes need to to be made.
