Crankshaft Timing Chain Gear

I bought a smoking RZR 900 XP and found during tear down that the timing chain crank gear is missing 2 teeth. The dealership say they can order the part but with the crank out its tough to tell how it comes apart or if its even possible to change. Does anyone have any experience with this? Its a shame to have to replace it because all the journals and bearings look good. Thanks.
