Project family ride 2016 XPT4 build.

Hello to all,
I have been on this forum for a while now. I just purchased a 2016 XPT4 at the sand sports show. So since I am part of the club I figured I should kind of introduce my self. I have a couple rock crawlers, had about 30 dirt bikes, I have my Prerunner from my younger life, I have a Prerunner f350/ work truck that we took it to Baja last year with a bunch of RZRs. I ended realizing that I missed having a side by side.

I used to own a Yamaha Rhino when they first came out back in 04 or 05. I ended up spending a lot of money on it but it just never had the performance I wanted. It was like a suped up golf cart with 4wd. It had long travel, race engine, bla, bla, bla.I drove the piss out of it. We ended up buying another one that I could drive regularly.

I sold them to buy a Tom Pro mini rail. It had about 350 hp to the wheels and weighed about 1300 pounds. Performance was unreal! So was the maintenance bill and it was unreliable as all hell. Loved the car but hated working on it more than I drove.

I ended up getting so frustrated with the car I sold it and bought something I could just drive and not have a passenger to complain and literally cry about the speed we were driving. Well I ended up breaking my back in Mohave. The old saying look before you leap. Kept it a while after that and sold it to buy another family car.

Anyways, here I am today. I bought a 2016 XPT4 at the sand sports show. I figured I couldn't resist the deal on the turbo so I bought one instead of the non turbo. Here it is when I signed the papers. Which was a week after the show and have not seen it since. I hope to get it back from Evolution Off-Road a week before Thanks Giving.
Some pictures of when I puchased it.

Some pictures of its current transformation.

I will post more later. I got to get to work to pay for this car.

Very nice! I dig those doors... They are PRP? Didn't know they made doors. Looks like your cage is going to be pretty low- how tall are you? I want a low cage but not sure how low I can or should really go. What tune you going with?

Re: Project family ride 2016 XPT4 build.

I am 5-8. I wanted it short, like me.

The fab guy was less than pleased with the PRP doors. They were cheap compared to his but a lot less nice. His doors are beautiful. But at $2100 it was hard to swallow. I would have sprung for his doors but he never replied to a text I sent him. He is super busy right now and I guess the doors take a long time to build. I like these because I can swap them for the stock doors if it is too hot outside.

I purchased three different tunes from Bikeman Performance. I pretty much purchased everything available from them minus the cam tensioner. He stated it was really not needed in my application. On the hottest tune it will be near 200 hp maybe 190. Not really sure and not really worried about the horse power. I am still waiting to receive the parts from Bikeman Performance. Should be soon. Doesn't really matter because I do not get the car back for about another month.

I will post more pictures when I get some stuff in.

Re: Project family ride 2016 XPT4 build.

Getting stuff in the mail.

Sitting in my Kitchen wishing I had my car. Picked up 4 pumper helmets one for the whole family. They are also wired for sound.

Got my order from Bikeman. The exhaust shield is bent up. Sent them an email. Waiting for a reply. I know they will make it right. Still waiting on the BOV from them. It was backordered.

Evolution off-road is installing two Odessy batteries with an isolator. That way I have back up power for the accessories. This is not my car but what it will look like.

I also have the TCP radiator/intercooler ordered.

My car will be ready in three weeks. I cannot wait!

Re: Project family ride 2016 XPT4 build.

Got the car back from Evolution Off-Road. They came through with the deadline minus the front windshield. The cage came out better than I imagined. He did bumpers, cage, roof, recessed light bar pocket, Safari rack, dual batteries, installed the four person fresh air pumper system, installed an assault tire rack and 32" tires on method head locks.

TCP radiator. I am very impressed with the quality.
