Need Polaris RZR 900 mechanic service

I need a Polaris Mechanic to adjust the intake valves on my 2012 Polaris RZR 900XP 4. I have two 2012 RZR's and they all all disassembled in my garage where we are installing new transmissions and some other fixes. I checked the valve clearances and they are out of spec; the intake valve clearance reading cold was 0.0015 in; the spec calls for .005 - .007 in. According to the shop manual, shims are required to make adjustments correctly. I am seeking the help of an experienced Polaris mechanic that can do a house call. I live near 55th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road in Glendale Arizona, 85310. Even a recommendation would be helpful. My phone number is 602-882-3111. Thank you in advance for reading this message. The engine compartment is completely exposed and the valve cover has been removed so the whole operation should be relatively simple for an experienced mechanic. Thanks Steve

Re: Need Polaris RZR 900 mechanic service

How easy is this operation to do yourself? I have the shop manual and the description seems complicated. especially making sure everything is in the right place when it goes back together. Does the cover over the flywheel need to come off? needs a new gasket then? stuff like that...

House calls are rare... maybe try:

Neil @ ATV Racing
or
Jason @ Weller Racing

They are in that area.

Re: Need Polaris RZR 900 mechanic service

I just did this on my 2012 xp 900, you do have to take the stator cover off to line up the timing mark on the fly wheel to the cases when reinstalling the cams. You will also have to drain the oil and need a new gasket for the cover. As far as the shims you can either order individual ones or you can get a kit, they are the same as the yamaha yfz 450 ATVs and the honda crf 450 dirt bikes. Its pretty straight forward to do, you just have to be patient with it and take your time.

heres a couple pictures I took while working on it

Re: Need Polaris RZR 900 mechanic service

Nate,
If I have the engine down this far what do you think of installing the Alba Stage 2 kit? Where do i purchase this kit? Need advice on what performance enhancement kit to add to my 2012 RZR 900XP 4; the Alba Stage 2, the Jagged X kit; or what else is available that works. My machine already has the following: Dragonfire Fire breather intake system; ZFIMX BAZZAZ fuel injection tuning; Muzzy Perfoemance Exhaust system; oversized radiator; revalved walker evans shocks; 28" tires on 14" rims. Nothing has been done to the clutch. It now has a new transmission. I have it all tore down to install the transmission and checked the valve clearances and found all four intake valves out of spec at .0015 in. Since I am this far into the engine i thought i should look putting in better cams and valve springs and whatever else these high performance kits provide.
Where can I purchase the Alba Stage 2 kit for this machine?
Thanks
Steve

Steve-
I agree with the post above. Swingarm (Tim) is up in Prescott. He did my 800 years ago and now my daughter has it. Still going strong. Send him a PM.

That is the one. He may be up at the rally so give it a couple days for him to get back to you.
