Shock theropy stage 2 kit.

I'm looking at a stage 2 upgrade for my springs. I like that it has crossover rings and replaces rear tenders. Uses all other stock springs to save money but big improvements come from the crossover rings they say. So question I have is has anyone on here gone with the stage 2 instead of the more expensive stage 4? Should I wait and save up for the stage 4? Thanks

Re: Shock theropy stage 2 kit.

There is an in between option, 3+. It replaces the front springs, the rear top spring, and uses the OEM rear lower. This will give you a really good setup. The problem with the level 2 is it uses the stock front springs. The OEM upper spring was not designed to be a tender spring and will not work well as a dual rate setup.

Yes I understand but my tender in the front is not collapsed. I also have a wife to get this by, the stage 2 is a better sell.

I understand the wife thing and I get that you have a budget. However, your missing the point, the top OEM springs are NOT tender springs. Putting crossovers on the stock front OEM springs is pointless.

Might consider replacing all the tender springs and upgrading later.

Re: Shock theropy stage 2 kit.

One thing to consider too...if you don't replace all your springs it looks really crappy having mis matched colors. You're going to be unhappy with the performance and end up changing it later anyway.

It's one of those saving money gets expensive later situations.

Joe have you upgraded your rig? If so, did you go springs, or re-valve and springs?

And without the crossover rings it's not a true dual rate setup. If I just upgrade tender springs that's not enough. The stage 3 looks nice but I thought it says they don't offer it for my xp1000 4. ?

Joe mentioned the 3 plus set up for the xp4

For these reasons we developed a Leve 3 PLUS spring kit that includes 2 front “Silent” cross over rings, two front, upper race springs, two front lower race springs as well as two rear “Silent” cross over rings and two rear race springs that come in a Level 2 spring kit

I have run thier 3+ for two years, works excellent and cost effective. The ride quality is amazing. It was time for a rebuild so I had them do a complete rebuild, upgrade to level 4, and revalve. I suggest you call them, they can set you up with a kit taylored for your application and budget. And yes they make a 3+ kit for the XP4.

Re: Shock theropy stage 2 kit.

Interesting conversation I just had with my local Polaris parts manager. He said he would never use shock theropy. He said he would only work with Walker Evens to rebuild or revalve Walker Evens shocks. Said 4 out of 5 have bad experience with Shock Theropy. ??? Here's a good guy and I trust him but he's first I've heard say this. Now I don't know that to do. Does anyone else agree with him?

Re: Shock theropy stage 2 kit.

Never had shocks rebuilt by ST but I do run the springs. Having said that, Im yet to read any reviews where ST work was faulty in any way. If hes claiming 4 out of 5 have bad exp w ST, as I always say “Trust, but verify” have him show you where people have lodged complaints, bad reviews, etc. And if possible link them here so we can see as well.

I’d say more like 99/100 are happy with shock therapy... including me

Re: Shock theropy stage 2 kit.

We offer the Pro-UTV kit from Eibach for several models and continue to receive awesome feedback. I personally recommend the Stage II for those looking for a smoother ride without sacrificing ground clearance & stability.

I put Stage 4 on my RZR, and although expensive, it is the ONLY mod that I've done that after one ride, my wife said was worth every penny.
