Lowrance 7 installed

Hopefully these pics work. Trying this from my phone. We go all over the country and wanted a way to map where we have been. I searched and didn’t see much in the way of mounts so decided to modify that little top glove box. It still has usable storage just not as much as before.

I used the factory mount that clips into the back. It has a large baseplate designed to mount to a flat surface. The mount rotates and it almost matches the angle of that dash pocket front vertical wall. I used a 2x4 as a spacer then added a small 1/8” aluminum shim so everything would fit perfect. I will pull the 2x4 piece and make something a littlle better. The Lowrance comes with a paper template that really helped. The hard part was the flip up lid. Took a little while to get it to fit nice. Lost the latch but either screw lid closed or add internal bungee to hold shut.

Re: Lowrance 7 installed

Very clean- looks like you took your time. Good looking.

I mounted my I Pad Mini 4 with a Life Proof case above the rubber net on the flat part of the dash with the Ram mounting system and a 6" Ram mounting arm, so I can position the I pad at any angle/ and up /down/vertical/ horizontal
The sun sometimes makes it difficult to see the screen before I made it more movable.
.
Best thing I like is I can remove it in a snap at night from would be thieves.

I can post if other would like to see what I am talking about.

I have not purchased a stereo yet .. What is everyone using???- was going to wait on Rockford fosgate but now they say end of May
( maybe).. don't wanna go the SSV route again on this car....

That looks awesome. I’m struggling on mounting my iPad mini. I want the same location.

Does the 7Ti2 have an offroad version?

Re: Lowrance 7 installed

Not an off road version but comes standard with a base map covering everywhere. You can download more detail if you want to find specific roads or landmarks. You can buy maps of popular places to ride like Johnson Valley, Rubicon Trail. I really only want it to save all of the trails we do. Save start and finish as well as the track. I understand the basics of it but there is a ton to still learn.

I just picked up the same Lowrance and was wondering if you could post up some pictures of the inside of the compartment on how it mounted please.
