Wanting to quiet down the rzr.

We have a 1 year old and the noise inside the cab is super loud due to roof, full window, doors etc.

I came across this video...

Has anyone done something similiar? His rig seems SUPER quiet. Do you think he is replacing his existing exhaust with the parts he has listed or adding them on like the aftermarket benz silencers or koplin silencers?

I also went out with a flashlight and it looks like the spark arrestor was removed. The bolt wasn't there and I don't see any mesh inside. I assume that spark arrestor helped tone the machine down a little? Calling polaris to get a replacement now.

Re: Wanting to quiet down the rzr.

Those do help some.
I was kinda surprised to see this thread about a noisy interior, out on the trails you can usually talk to the passenger even with helmets on.
You could try some of those foil backed-foamed heat shields under and behind the seats.

Re: Wanting to quiet down the rzr.

Its not just the exhaust, it's the engine, clutches, tires, etc. On a traditional atv, your above all of the noise, with the rzr, your essentially in an enclosed cab with next to no sound dampening material so you're going to hear everything. You could dynomat the floor, and behind the seats if you really want to get ride of some of the sound.

Re: Wanting to quiet down the rzr.

My guess is the sound is just bouncing off the inside a bunch and creating a ton of sound in the cab. I also seem to get a bunch of exhaust in the cab with the roof, front window and rear canvas window cover and the doors. No idea if putting upper doors would fix the issue, but at this point I may be better off by removing the front window and the rear window. Help with airflow and possibly make it a little quieter.

Re: Wanting to quiet down the rzr.

I did the triple pass muffler and it helped a lot. I also have done sound and heat barriers behind and under the seats, the under bed heat shield, and even a little sound foam inside the roof. I can have the stereo on and carry on a normal conversation with my passenger. I started with the muffler and just kept whittling away at sound sources. I kept my full windshield and full doors. message me if you want some product links I used. I wanted my wife to be happy and not annoyed with the 'loud toy' and I ended up loving it too. Now when I ride in a buddys 800 I get annoyed LOL
