How many disabled people own a Side by Side or ATV??

The ATV’s industry should know there is a huge market for the disabled.

Currently “We the Disabled” have to modify current production ATV’s to meet

or needs to access the outdoors. Make your comment here if you own or

want to own a side by side :rzrs:eek:r ATV :ride:and or a little info on yourself??

I started this post. I'm still alive, just gone thru some good times and some rough times. I still use my modified center steer/seat on my 2009 LE 800 RZR and it's still my favorite. I do like my XP 900 (first power steering XP 900), 2014 Vodoo Blue with Mennox hand controls. I have more room in my LE 800 and just added power steering. I have had many life changing events since I started this post. Polaris has finally got the concept of center steering and seat. Sad part is there still behind times and still do not see the overall picture of what it takes to produce the best Side x Side for the disabled. I still find it very hard to understand why they just do not get the big picture. Well I'm very happy to date with my conversion in 2009 and looking foreword to the day Polaris ask me some very important questions to see the big picture. Paralyzed 44 years and on my way to breaking some records. Come see me and my trails in Oregon.

I just stumbled onto this thread, so being the FNG I'll tell you my tale. Two massive strokes one day in March of 2007 result - left side paralysis. Finally learned to walk on my own in spring of 2008, married my second wife in June of 08, I was a widow since jan.of 1994. I didn't get a rzr first because I couldn't get in and out of the 800's bought a 2010 Teryx and joined the southern sxs riders club and gradually learned to drive it, with the generous a patient guidance of my fellow ssxsr friends. My wife decided we needed a new xp rzr for the softer ride so Three weeks ago we brought home a 2016 rzr xp 1000 and we love it! course' we can't drive it till the dealer gets my recall parts in. But the power steering on this xp is perfect for this "one armed bandit". I am certain I will appreciate the power this engine has to offer on our Tenn. trail rides as well. I can't say I'm glad that there are other physically challenged riders out there but I can say I am proud that there are men who overcome disabilities to enjoy their sport. Good Luck to all...

Familial spastic paraplegia. Have had it since I was 14 and I'm now 33. I grew up riding quad and sled in the winter. Love being able to get out in the out doors. I just bought a ranger 570 and plan on using it all year around. Plow in winter and riding in summer. It's good getting out with the wife and 18 month old. He absolutely loves it. Haven't got my hand controls on yet but have sure grip hand controls ready to be installed

Re: Poll "Disabled" do you own an ATV?

Hello. I'm 43 and have a C4 Incomplete spinal cord injury that happened in Jan 2014. I'm a walking quad, but have high muscle tone on left side, so the walking is difficult. I have Central Cord Syndrome so my hands, mostly my left, are very affected. I'm about to buy a RZR 900 EPS Trail to help me get out and enjoy the backcountry. I originally wanted a Sportsman, but unless I limited my riding to flat ground, braking with the left would be rough.

I'm an above the right knee amputee and have a 2009 RZR 800. When I first bought it I was unable to drive it (I had several friends who handled that for me) until my left foot gas petal came in and had it installed now I can drive it and love doing so out in the Arizona Strip and Nevada Desert.

I am a left leg amputee (no femur bone).... but I use a wheelchair for most of my mobility.... I have a 2011 800 RZR and an Artic Cat 400 4x4.

I am a Computer guy but I do a lot of mechanical work on everything I own... not slow or super great, but affordable because I am cheap!

I was born with Crerbral Palsy. It only affected my legs. So I have flexability issues with them. I have a RZR 900 trail and really the only mods for me are extra grab handles so I can hoist myself in and a buddy made a block for the gas pedal because if I move the seat back to use the brake I can't reach the gas pedal. One thing that I wish was different on the machine is the door cutout was longer to swing my legs in and out. I love my RZR.
