Some trails are 60” restricted, others are not. Difficult to find out which are which though.

Yes they have a 60” maximum for many trails and a large number of smaller 50” trails as well. It is a tight state.

Re: Class 1 trails all turning into class 2 ?

I just got back from Utah on our first trip with the RZR 900 EPS Trail. First stop was Moab. I have been out there a lot and don't really expect much 50 inch stuff. We just like to take in the scenery. However, we hit 10 mile wash after a rain and it was a blast. We went to ride some 50 inch trails in the national forest near Joes Reservoir, Koosharem and down near Bryce Canyon. We were restricted to where we could go by snow but in most places when you came to the 50 inch gate all you had to do was look left or right and you could see where the fence was down and the bigger machine were going around. Only the Casto Canyon Trail barriers were still intact. That is an awesome trail and perfect for a 50 inch machine. When I look at all the trail maps that I use I see that there are very few 50 trails, maybe 10%, as compared to all the other trails that bigger machines and the family 4 seaters can ride on. It just irks me that some folks on bigger machines have total disregard for the barriers and bust a way around and widen out the trails anyway.

As the owner of a 64” machine, I couldn’t agree with you more. That’s the kind of crap that gets trails shut down for everyone. If you want to ride smaller trails, buy a smaller machine or don’t ride them. Period. In some places, like Maine, it sucks because the trails are all wide enough for a truck, but they restrict them due to the conditions agreed upon with the land-owners. Well, that’s their right and that’s the way it is for now.
