BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

She flies! at 71mph it hits the rev limiter, not that I really need more top end, but if I wanted more top end what do I do? Everything is stock besides the BMP Stage 1 tune.

Re: BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

I have bmp stage 3 on mine but hit the limiter about the same time. If I back off and slowly get into it again I can get up to over 80 before I puss out and let off again. Stock primary and team tied secondary. Give that a shot perhaps.

Re: BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

You need a clutch kit to compliment your tune, if you had adjustable arms right now you need more tip weight!

Re: BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

Yes like stated. More tip weight.
Wasting power to the ground without the clutch kit.

Re: BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

Great that means you are making power!
Yes I agree with the above at the bare minimum adjustable primary weight set up. Ideally you would get the full front and rear set to get all the added power to the ground - find that and all of our Clutch kits here!

Re: BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

Well it appears my issue was more tires than anything. I had 25x8 and 25x10 tires on from my RZR 800. Today I received my 27x9 all the way around Tusk Terrabite's on Tusk 12" rims. Hitting the REV limiter is gone and GPS registered 72mph, a 4mph gain over the 25" tires I had on there!

You'll still get more with a clutch kit!

Re: BMP Stage 1 hitting rev limiter

As a general rule clutch kits do not change top speed, as long as the clutch is able to close up and that normally happens anywhere between 45-60 depending on vehicle then changes in weight of weight does not affect top speed.

If you put heavier weights in and gained speed then your clutch was not closing up all the way before and it was wrong before.
