Question Lift Kit from EPI?

Looking at this lift kit from EPI since it appears to be all brackets and no shock spacers or drilling required - EPILK195 https://epiperformance.com/lift-kit-epilk195/

Anyone have any experience with this kit? I saw someone had recommended their wheel spacers as high quality and made in the USA, so while checking on those, I happened upon the lift too.

Re: Lift Kit from EPI?

It looks almost exactly like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PERFEX-LK-1...72.m2749.l2649

I installed mine last weekend, along with 1.5" wheel spacers, and it's a whole new ride!

I'm very pleased with the quality of the materials and the fit of the kit.

Hey Gene, I just installed 14" wheels with a 4+3 offset, so it moved the tires out a big. Do you think that would be enough offset with the lift or might I need to add spacers too?

Re: Lift Kit from EPI?

Yep, the Perfex.

Since the stock wheels are 5.5/1.5, and I used 1.5" spacers, the 4/3 should be the same...

Thank for the info Gene! Taking her out this weekend to see if the increased wheel size gained me the extra ground clearance I need, or if a lift will be necessary. If it is, I am definitely gong with the Perfex - saves a bit of $ for another farckle.

Re: Lift Kit from EPI?

Well, I just ordered this lift kit. Took the buggy out on the trails today for the first time with the bigger wheels and tires and holy cow did I have front rub! Not only when doing hard/full lock turns but also when hitting bumps and the suspension compressed. It hurt my soul each time it rubbed, so I ordered the lift as soon as we got back home. Since the Hatfield McCoy trip is in 4 days, planning to put the stock wheels back on in order to enjoy the trails without worrying about rubbing.

I really like the new feel. By adding the lift, I was able to back the preload all the way down and still have enough ground clearance for most anything. I'm running 27" tires, 9" all the way around. I didn't have any rubbing before, but I definately needed more clearance to even match my mid-size Ranger, So I wen t up to the next to the top preload. The ride was rough. Much better now.

I get plenty of lean on a fast corner, but not what I consider excessive. I haven't measured the outside width with the spacers and new wheels, but I'm just inside the Nerf Bars. I got the '17 Trail since the '18 and none of the other versions had it. I have Turf Mode on my Ranger, and not on my Sportsman. I know I like it. I also know not to drive stupid in Turf Mode (duh). It's funny how often the guys with the 'junk' equipment are also the ones who use the most fuel on the same ride

I cannot seem to get the back front mounting plate vertical enough to attach to the front. Anyone have a suggestion on fit? I ordered the same kit Gene linked to and it specifically stated it is for the 900 Trail, but I might need to contact the seller anyway. As you can see, the front bracket slid in perfectly. But the back is at an angle blocked by the frame bars.
