Re: What did you do to your 900 trail today

Was out playing in the snow and noticed my gas was low. Sick of hauling gas in 5 gallon buckets so I came in the house and ordered the 5 gallon gas tank that fits under the driver seat from IMS.

Thanks, but there isn't one for my 2018 (cries in beer). My tank is under one seat, and battery/fuse box is under the other

I called them and they told me they just hadn't updated their website and the tank would fit my 2016 so I ordered it.

I tried installing today and everything is different from the instructions and the tank does not appear that it will fit. And if it does fit the battery won't.

I got tired of messing with it and will look at it again tomorrow but it looks like I tore the rzr apart for nothing.

What did you do to your 900 trail today

Got the hydraulic terminal crimper in and put on the larger holed lugs for my viper winch. Had to straighten the upper lip of the battery terminal so the larger lug would fit, but worked out great.

Overall view of the completed install from the inside. Will be greasing the slip yoke while the cover is off, along with the rest of the rzr, and an oil change before the riding season comes in.

Re: What did you do to your 900 trail today

update on my 5 gallon auxiliary tank that won't fit.

I called IMS and told them how much different my RZR was from the install guide they said in 2016 the 900 used the same frame as the 1000 so their tank for the 1000 will fit. I watched the install video for the 1000 and it does look like it matches my frame.

So IMS is sending me a new tank and a battery relocation kit to fit the 1000. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What did you do to your 900 trail today

Broke it. .

A pretty day, so was gonna get it back together and try out the new winch.

Thought I’d go ahead and grease it since the center console was out.

Went to push the right angle grease gun adaptor onto the driver’s side upper a arm fitting, and...

Snap.

So it’s apart again.

Went ahead and finished greasing it up after seeing I couldn’t get the old fitting out. Got to go to Lowe’s and get a screw extractor, my cheap set is stripped and won’t grab.

Re: What did you do to your 900 trail today

Fixed it!

Ordered up a couple different bolt removers, a Hanson spiral set and a Williams square set (always looking for an excuse to buy tools, lol).

Tried the Williams one first, and worked great.

Tapped in to start.

Screwed right out.

Finally a new Polaris grease plug installed.

Got it all back together, and should be good to go.
