2010 rzr 800 starts right up. Was idling at around 1200 normally. Now at start up it's idling between 1000 and 1100 sounds rough and I'm getting a wrench icon on my display blinking but then goes away. any input as to what the problem might be would be helpful.

Time to inspect the combustion air duct for signs of dust.

Look up to the inlet of the Throttle Body any signs of dust?

Yes, then remove the rubber boot that connects the outlet of the Throttle Body to the intake manifold. Any signs of a "mud" of dust and gasoline?

Yes? then remove the intake manifold and look into the intake chambers in the cylinder head. Coated with "mud".

Yes? Motor has been dusted and must be rebuilt. Typically the cylinder walls are scored by the "mud". Its gotten into the oil system and bearings are all failing.

Been here, paid the price, and started rigorous maintenance to keep the air filter element clean and dust out of the motor!

Oh, and this is often the cause of the idles speed dropping.

Get some mass air flow sensor cleaner and spray the sensor downstream of the air filter on inlet. Had to do this a few times with my 2010 when running oiled uni air filter, which was a bad idea. My idle would slowly decrease because sensor was not reading correctly. Cheap to try.

The blinking wrench is just a reminder it's time to service your vehicle. The manual describes how to adjust the service interval or simply turn of the wrench altogether.

I agree with the other posts above with things to check. One other suggestion is to check your fuel pressure to see if your fuel pump is going out.

According to the 2010 service manual it is the reverse of what you said - a blinking wrench is a service reminder where the solid wrench appears in diagnostic mode. See pic from the 2010 manual which the OP has. 2011+ is similar except it blinks for 10 seconds instead of 5.

Also from the service manual:

Diagnostic Display Mode
The wrench icon will display when the gauge is in the diagnostic
mode. To exit the diagnostic mode, turn the key switch off and
on. Any movement of the tires will also cause the gauge to exit
the diagnostic mode.

Viewing Diagnostic Codes
Use the following procedure to view diagnostic blink codes
(failure codes) from the EFI module:
1. Engage the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine.
3. Turn the key switch to the ON position.
4. Turn the key switch off and on three times in less than five
seconds, then leave the switch on. The word “Wait” will
appear on the screen along with a flashing “Check Engine”
light.
5. Any blink code numbers stored in the EFI module will
display, one at a time, on the screen.
Example below shows a Blink Code of “42”.
6. The number “61” and/or the word “End” displays after all
codes have been transmitted.

How many hours are on your 800? What air filter are you running? I'd switch to a UMP asap (from experience). Motor is about 3200 bucks and you're down for about 8 weeks.

When you have the air filter off, shine a bright flashlight down the intake path... do you see dirt/dust? If so, gonna need to take apart more (tbody and boot, intake plenum) and clean clean clean and pray.
