I have taken my ‘15 570 efi to the dealer service dept and they’re stumped. When I try to start the vehicle, and yes I allow time for it to cycle first, it turns over but won’t start until I pedal some gas to it. Service dept said fuel pressure is at spec, and they cleaned the idler control valve and replaced spark plug. Any thoughts?
Exhaust valves tend to tighten up. If you have any dirt ingestion it can cause the intakes to wear bad as well. If its getting ample fuel then its a compression issue for sure. Weather it be a tight valve or a piston ring sealing issue.
You may well be right. I have less than zero % knowledge of such things. But it sounds like an expensive fix - if indeed it actually fixes the problem. Also, it runs like a top once it starts. Did hells revenge and others last month and it never missed a beat - once I got it started!
Littleton. Are there any non-dealership utv repair shops - that are trustworthy? I can’t help but feel like a lamb going to its slaughter when I enter a dealerships service dept!
Well, you folks nailed it with your diagnosis of ‘valves out of adjustment’. The service department at the dealership wanted to replace the throttle body until I insisted on checking the valves first. Glad I did ‘cause that was the problem for sure. Starts like a champ every time now! Thanks again for your input, and thanks to Mike K. at Fay Myers service dept for helping hold repair costs down. Happy Holidays and Happy Riding!!!
If it runs good and your happy with the power when its running its likely a valve adjustment issue. Good luck. If you were closer I would help you but I live in Canada.
