Re: engine specs

So can I drop in a 1000 crankshaft with a big bore kit? That would be interesting.

Usa Re: engine specs

They said it had a 180 crank which I think is bs because its an inline twin. Inline twins have 0 or 360 however you see it. And it sounds normal. It would sound funny kinda like its missing with a 180 crank.

Engine in the 800 are 360 degrees, but 900 and 1000 are 180 degrees.

I rebuilt both engine, 800 and 900 and saw the difference in cranks. 1000 is similar in design to 900 engine.

Re: engine specs

The biggest difference I can see so far is the head and the crank. The bore is still the same. The crank is 9.1mm longer stroke and the head is quite a bit different. Looks like it flows a lot of air. Intake is bigger and the exhaust is an oval port exit instead of round like the 900. The exhaust valves are smaller than the 900 probably to keep velocity through the larger port design. The cams appear to be the same aside from being different lift and duration.

Re: engine specs

The exhaust cam is supposedly the same as the cam in the 900 jagged X.
So are the valve springs, according to the parts drawings.

Well, that would definitely make a cam different in my racing world....
