Pop off the coupler and see if the s&b side is clean or dusty. If its dusty, something is wrong with the unit, clean somethings not sealing
Well the dirt seems to be coming from the particle separator as per picture. Any ideas on how to correct this would be appreciated. S&B is telling me this is normal

2024 Ultimate and the under fender mount. After a recent 400 mile Baja run, there was a miniscule amount of silt and dirt in the filter. Prior to the S&B I was tapping out piles of silt daily.

I had the high mount intake mounted under the roof. After my disaster with the shoulder harness mounted spare tire carrier, and going to the roll cage Polaris mounted carrier, the under roof intake no longer worked. Polaris Dealer installed the under side mounted unit. Nothing I love more than paying for the same functional part twice... But it gets better...

In the desert group riding in Lake Havasu, the dust is horrible... and guess what, the under fender mount just doesn't work. S&B response was too slow, and by the time I received their email, it was the day before going back into the shop AGAIN. I checked everything they suggested, except the seal on the air box. Aftermarket dealer checked that for me, everything was working as it should.

I paid to have the aftermarket dealer reinstall the original unit, but mount it on top of the roof. They also said they have had zero luck with under fender mounted air units in this environment, and discourage any customers from doing it. They added, the Polaris dealer knows this too, and they should have just moved my intake to the roof.

Frustrated with all the money spent on this one functional part.

Don't believe some of the post with pictures showing spotless air boxes and claiming 400 plus miles of dusty desert riding, it's B.S.
2025 Pro R.
Fact. Just got the v2 S&B installed, the airbox interior isn't as "spotless" as claimed. There seems to be an issue with the airbox itself since it doesn't seal as good as it should while secured - but a post for another thread.

Damn shame it's come to this at all installing a particle separator. Less performing machines don't need such contraptions. Nice job POLARIS.

Had a series of emails with S&B. They are following up with my local aftermarket shop to get an understanding of this environment. They also have suggested some recent product design changes may have helped. Apparently my front windshield and rear window made the situation worse, creating a vacuum swirl of dust for the intake. I reinstalled my original unit with the intake on top of the roof... nothing like making my pro R even higher :(

Lake Havasu group rides, without exaggeration, there are times car 50' in front of you completely disappears behind a wall of dust.

This, this is exactly my problem as well. The half windshield and full rear window is creating a negative pressure zone. I'm going to try to install some Tusk Wing Vents or Rokblokz Air Blades on the rear of the cage and see if I can create a little positive pressure zone. If nothing else it'll hopefully help keep the dust from collecting on top of the storage box lid

Just installed under fender v2 on 2025 pro r. Too early to tell after some dirty rides but getting around to the new discovery that the air box is not sealing adequately. Following this thread.

If you're having sealing issues from the airbox, I would put some Maxima SG920 on the rubber lip to assist with sealing

S&B did ask if I installed their air box seal, with a yellow edge... I didn't do any of the installations, and quite frankly don't recall seeing a seal on the box with a yellow edge. Not that it matters, because it didn't look like an airbox sealing issue anyway.

Neither of the owners manual or the shop manual say anything about greasing the rubber seal in the airbox. My Honda Pioneer went exactly the same places in the same environments, although struggling, but exposed to both dirt and sand. It’s a shame I can say that Honda pioneers’s airbox was better designed and thought through than what Polaris did on these machines, I’m not opposed to doing it, but if the airbox isn’t sealing and it’s brand new out of the factory that’s not an acceptable workaround. The particle separator manual does talk about using one of two methods (Bel-Ray) which is interesting to me because it almost suggests they know the airbox sucks and they don’t want fingers pointed at their product.
