Re: RZR owners in Idaho

I am in McCall, north of Boise.
I don't usually range that far to the S/E.
Too much to see and do up her.

Re: RZR owners in Idaho

It would be great to have a list of trails that you could take your rzr's on.
Was just up in Boulder City several weeks ago. Took our camping gear, great ride.
Is Germania basin similar ride? Looking for something longer than Boulder City.

Re: RZR owners in Idaho

I'm in Idaho as well (Naples). But I haven't lived here long enough to know any trails yet. Hope to change that over the next few weeks.

Hailing from Twin Falls. Yep been up to pole creak area many times. Ride up in Mackay once in a while and also the south hills for a quick afternoon. Just got back from a 4 day ride up in the island park area that was very nice.

Re: RZR owners in Idaho

I'm in Meridian. I've had my RZR since June and have about 1200 miles racked up on it so far.

Closest trail system (Danskins) is closed for fire restoration, but it's an awesome ride with ATV. Numerous trails and access to the Boise River between Anderson and Arrow Rock for some killer fly fishing.

My parents live in Murphy and their place is right off the Rabbit Creek and Hemingway trail systems. That system provides many miles of trail and access to Silver City.

Emmett has some trails, but I usually just take Van Deuson road and ride into Ben Ross Reservoir for fishing.

I rode into Hornet Reservoir out of Council a couple times this summer. Nice dirt road ride with good fishing (cut-bows) and ripe huckleberries.

Next summer, I'm wanting to try out the Kirkham Trail system outside of Lowman. Stanley area looks to have some decent trails. South of Twin Falls looks promising too.

If I can find a trail into some decent mountain lakes or reservoirs that I can drop the kayak, I'm very happy.

I'm also from Meridian. Sold my WR450 and bought the RZR so the wife and I could enjoy riding together. Got my 570 EPS in September, so only got 4 rides in before putting on the plow.
Herrick reservoir to East Mountain lookout was fun.
Fall Creek resort to Trinity lookout was a blast too.
The Kirkham trail system was fun on the WR, but is VERY limited on 2-track.
We have a cabin in Stanley, so I'm very familiar with those trails... Once again, pretty limited on good 2-track trails up there, but lots of good washed out fire roads especially up toward Sunbeam.
In the Featherville area, Kelly Creek to Iron Mountain lookout loop is great for 50" machines.

Katnapper... Sounds like you guys are very similar to us... Nothing like getting up to a high mountain lake and inflating the Stand Up Paddleboards!

Re: RZR owners in Idaho

Hey guys there are some great trails here in the Twin Falls area. The south hills has miles and miles of trails. Been going up there the last 4 years and I always find something new. You can ride the back country into Jackpot and beyond. Once spring hits look me up for a great day of riding. Also there are 3 nice rally's that take place in our state. 1. Lost River Rally in Mackay 2. Rally in the Pines in Island Park, and new this year is the Wells NV rally. We've done the Mackay and Island park ones and they are a blast.

Re: RZR owners in Idaho

Sweet! We'll have to touch base this spring... I'd actually much rather head east on I-84 toward Twin to find camping/riding than head up highway 55 and get stuck in the crowds up there and the return traffic from McCall on Sunday!

What's the South hills like? Sagebrush, Pine? I know Jackpot would be desert riding, but I've also been down toward Burley and there's some nice mountains there.

Re: RZR owners in Idaho

A spring ride down in the South hills would be great. Just say when, with a bit of notice for the job, and I'm all over it.
Was checking out the maps today looking into Jordan Valley, might also look into riding opportunities over near Duck Valley Reservation. Again, looking for some good riding with fishing destinations.
Thanks for the info on Kirkham and Stanley area. Trinity Lake was one of the destinations I was wanting to check out as well. Haven't been in that area since the Mustang fire.
Speaking of crowds, never go up to the 8th Street loop on a weekend. I was dodging bikes the entire time and they take those blind corners quickly. Guess it was good that I wasn't running with the stereo system going or I wouldn't have heard them.

My wife and I are going to hit Mackay right after the Wells Nevada ride. Going to hit some trails before the rally in the area starts. Anyone else going to be in Mackay right after the Wells Nevada run on June 18th?

Were doing the Wells and Mackay rally's too. We did the Mackay rally last year and had a blast. This year they are doing a night ride through the mine trail, should be fun. Look forward to seeing you either in Wells or here in the South Hills prior.
