Pittsburg NH UPDATE:

GNWR Secretary
12:11 PM (4 hours ago)
to rmacnh, bcc: me

Attention Members,

It has been brought to our attention a petition has been brought forth to the Pittsburg Selectman to have a warrant article closing town roads to four wheeling. This issue, along with the Bills brought forth by Representative Moynihan could end ATV’ing in our town.

Not only will this close the town roads it will leave us landlocked on one property owner. This property owner has already given us forewarning that if this happens they will follow suit and their property will be closed as well.

It is extremely important to vote at the town meeting against this warrant article to close our town roads. If you are a property owner in Pittsburg or a club member who spends time up here but cannot vote you can state opinions as letters to the editor in local papers.

If town roads are closed in Pittsburg then accessing trails and area businesses will cease to exist. This will ultimately end four wheeling in Pittsburg.

Sincerely,
Great North Woods Riders ATV Club Board of Directors

Re: Pittsburg NH UPDATE:

Well that's a bummer to hear. We were up there this past September and we had so much fun. This would be a HUGE loss to the state of NH over some landowners and some goofs.

I must say, we followed cars down form connector rural roads, and the dust they put up was unbearable. But you don't hear landowners complaining about that...

Re: Pittsburg NH UPDATE:

This past weekend we were discussing a potential trip to Pittsburg in August with our riding friends. With news like this we may have to look at going elsewhere!
PLEASE inform the Pittsburg Selectman and Representative involved...that by merely discussing such restrictions, it can significantly impact tourist/riding business for the upcoming season!
Keep us informed Gunmaker!

Re: Pittsburg NH UPDATE:

UPDATE: Trails will remain the same up here. The clubs will start to do reroutes to get away from people more. This will be a work in progress. I will say this, if you book a room, make sure you can ride from it. There is a club meeting in 2 weeks in Pittsburg so if there are big changes i will let you know
