Future RZR owner

Hello all!

I have just recently got back into trail riding and have decided to get a RZR. we rode some trails in Arkansas and had a blast on my dads kawasaki teryx. But there isn’t anyway I’d own one of those. Been a Polaris owner since mid 90’s and currently have a ranger XP 900.

Help me out. Can’t decide on a 1000 or a turbo model. Will be a 2 seater. My inner gear head says a turbo but I don’t think the kind of riding we will be doing that that much power is needed.

No high speed trails.

Somebody tell me that a 1000 has more then enough power to get the job done. Plus I like playing in the mud holes.

Thanks and looking forward to hearing options from the experts.

That’s always a pretty simple answer... Turbo. Always Turbo.

But being serious a xp 1000 for sure has enough power to get the job done. They are great machines as well. But The Turbo will have loads of power on tap. Anytime you want “need” it. So if it’s not a price issue I’d go Turbo. People RZR smarter than me can chime in on this one but I believe the turbo also has some beefier drive components to handle the added power. So if you keep your foot off the floor.. Solid Rig. I love my Turbo but I don’t keep my foot off the floor lol

Re: Future RZR owner

There are dozens of threads on this. If you think you're going to regret not getting the Turbo even a little, just get it, because you'll be kicking yourself if you're wanting to trade it in in 6 months. That said, I run trails with my 1K and have never regretted it. Especially when I read through the intercooler failure threads and what-not. People will tell you that there are no disadvantages to the Turbo models, but there are. Do some more reading. There are beefier components, but you're also running 50% more power through the drivetrain so...

Re: Future RZR owner

If you can afford the turbo, get it. With that said, the xp1k is plenty for 99.999% of riders. Especially on trails...

Also when you comes to owning a Turbo. You got to be comfortable with a Glowing red hot peice of Horsepower maker right next to your engine. That’s been the hardest thing to accept as normal for me. Lol

Well I originally was going for a 1000xp but endEd up going for a turbo for one giant reason. Xp1000 reverse chain xp turbo has reverse gear.then you add in the hd axles, better trans, and diffs.

You definitely don't NEED the horsepower of a turbo, but most of the guys that claim they didn't want a turbo would be driving turbos if they were the same money.

I’ve decided to go with a turbo but now the ride command has sparked my interest.

Anybody think the 2K for that option is worth the Money.

We aren’t gonna make the purchase until aug and hopefully the 2019 models will be on sale.

I decided against the ride command.. I guess I personally didn’t think it was worth the 2k an it can always be added ladder. Most of what the ride command does you can do on your phone... if u have service lol. But it definitely looks really cool. Looking at it now 60 days into my purchase probably should not of been a cheap ass an got ride command lmao. If you got the money go for it bro.

Ok that may be a problem with the whole glowing red thing. Will aftermarket exhaust solve that problem.
