Shorai batteries are awesome. Not only do you save a ton of weight, but you also get the benefits of a 2 year shelf life!!!

Re: quick question on dead Battery

If you have a 2011 its possible that the circuit breaker that controls the fan that is located between the seat pan and the skid plate in the wiring harness right below the battery is sticking open causing a drain to the battery. Drop the skid and check the circuit breaker. Alot of people are having problems with them . needs to be relocated up higher to keep it dry. I never thought about it creating a battery drain but it has been brought to my attention my a couple of members who had been having the same issue as you and after replacing it and moving it higher havent had another issue. Chaeap and easy to do. Even if its not your problem it still needs to be done to head off a furture fan problem. may eleminate two problems at once.

Re: quick question on dead Battery

One way to check battery is to take it out and charge it. Check voltage with a volt meter . Check it again and see if it is staying charged. Also an easy way to check if there is a drain on the battery is to turn off the key. Disconnect the ground wire and touch the ground to the battery and see if you get a spark. With the key off there should ne no spark. If you get one something is drawing power and running the battery down. If the battery loses volts disconnected then its just a bad battery.

Re: quick question on dead Battery

Checked the battery yesterday with a meter. 11.9 volts just sitting. 8.6 when the key is turned. (did not start). 14.6 volts when running after a jump start. Used it to pull trees for about an hour then shu off. Tried to start right away. No start. Cleaned all the leads including the ground. Repeated process and same result. Guess I'm buying a battery.

Also, consider going to your local auto-parts store (or Amazon) and buying a Battery Tender Junior. Keep your RZR plugged-in when you're not using it. I use BTJ's on all my toys; my GoldWing's battery is seven years old and still going strong. Just FWIW...........

Cheers

Re: quick question on dead Battery

RarRZR,

I've found with my Harleys, my Miller Trailblazer welder, my Bobcat loader and excavator that if I leave the Battery Tender connected all winter, it does seem to "boil" off some of the liquid in the battery and the battery goes bad.

Talked to a Battery Tender rep in Sturgis a few years ago and he recommended hooking it up one week a month...that does the trick. Everything starts right off and the batteries don't get low.
