Re: battery light ?

How old is your ride, are you still using your oem battery? Have you serviced (checked the fluids)?
When my battery light started coming on in 08, I replaced the battery with an Odyssey PC925L and haven't had a problem since,

Re: battery light ?

Was the old battery giving the same battery light? I would remove it and take it to an auto store that checks the conditions, in my area a Carquest store checks them. The 08 owners manual states that the light comes on when there is a low or high voltage condition,

Re: battery light ?

It's the voltage regulator. Under the seat it gets too hot and malfunctions. Needs to be relocated to where it gets more air.

Re: battery light ?

^^^What he said, and you might have been putting around which doesn't charge the battery much.

Also, consider a Deltran Battery Tender......$34. Keeps your battery at peak power during non-use in the garage.

But YES, consider buying Guy's voltage regulator relocation harness.....I did for my 2008 and it solved it (My 2008 with 228 hrs has the original battery).

not tring to put you down, but sunday was the first time this has happened since the rzr was new, & the origonal bat just got to where it wouldnt hold a charge.ive had no issues in the yr since i replaced it ,til sunday.seems if it was the regulator it would have happened before. or maby the reg is starting to go.we got in late &i havnt had time to get to look at any thing yet.

Re: battery light ?

Check your battery connections and the grounding points all over the machine. There is a computer processor involved and I might be getting a noisy signal. It not just about the DC voltage. The battery also works as capacitor to clean up the electrical system. Poor grounds can make strange things happen.
