Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

I agree that the comparison is tough. I have driven them both and personally like the XP. The extra width makes the ride nicer and the extra power is always a plus. I weigh 250 and I can feel the difference.

Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

I considered a turbo......but then I thought I would have so much wrapped up in it that I would never recover.....then I would feel like I should ahve gotten an XP to begin with! I am thinking with all the speculation about a 60" version of the XP I may just hold out and see what 2013 brings to the table....

Wise decision to wait, but you may loose a full riding season. Life is short. I wanted to rip and wasn't that concerned about resale. It's very nimble in the woods. Love it.

Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

after riding my S and XP back to back across my rutted, rocky, hilly pasture, the S definitely has a little softer/more plush ride to it at slower speeds. I have not touched the XP suspension yet as i love it at high speeds, so im sure if i wanted, i could soften it up a bit. My S however has a racertech lift and the preload increased a little. So its even stiffer then a stock S LE. The S definitely steers a heck of a lot easier too. Having said that I love both of them but if you are power hungry then the XP is the answer. Sure you can throw a turbo on the S, but after that, if you still want more power, then what? a lot more money for big bore cams, billet strocker, and other mods. Where as the XP you are already starting out with a heck of a lot more power, more potential...

If you don't have width restrictions, go with the XP, you'll never notice the 4". A turbo 800 is topped out and not much different than an XP, but still lack the extra suspension and clearance. A 60" XP will lose a little travel and ground clearance.

Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

i havent driven an 800 very much but i love my 900 on trails, i was keeping up with a sport quad riding through very rough trails, i was going about 70 km/h through hills and over very rough patches and it soaked them up like nothing. the only thing i would have a complaint about is that the ass end kicks up sometimes and i have a hard time getting the front off the ground, im running stock setting tho. as for manuverability i dont have a problem with it but im a pretty big guy. it turns on a dime, my girlfriend, who is very small also has no problem, just had to get a seat adjuster for her so she could see over my half windshield. i guess thats what you have to deal with when youre 5 1" lol.

Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

i love my xp.. comfort of ride, extra power..much better suspension... with that being said... if all you need is a little more power, and dont need to go faster than 60 mph.. then I actually suggest talking to someone who knows about clutching to do what you want. Im sure swingarm can help you out. Much less expensive than upgrading, and im thinking it may be just what YOU need.

Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

I've been in just about every sxs out their I have a rzr that's now a s.. The bottom line is what you plan on doing.

Real tight narrow under 40 mph get a 50in rzr

Got some room and don't mind going about 60 get a s

If 64 in fits and you want to go just about 80 mph...power wise be about the same as a turbo s. but mor reliable.... As to sterring the 11 xp was harder the 12 is better but to me it's not all that bad. Just like a ltr rzr's they are alot quieter running smother riding. Way faster handle better...fly with a turbo then the xp is for you

Re: How does the XP compare to the S.....

I have both,Like them both, The xp just gives you a little more,But in tight woods it is wider it will not go every place that a s will JMHO I tried to get my wife to trade her s and get her a xp all i got was a no way she has drove both in the woods and at the dunes.
