Used 800 or new 570

I was reading the different threads on this subject, but unsure which way I wanted to go. So I figured why not ask part of me says to save a little longer and get a new 570 (herd nothing but good things about them) anyhow what would you all do

My wife's grandfather just bought a used rzr 800 50". he bought it just to help a family member out ,now he offered it to me for $7200

Believe it was a 2011 (olive green color)
Hrs 77
Miles 550ish

It has a plastic top, trunk cover, adjustable seats,cb radio, winch, rear back window,1/2 front windshield and for and extra 600.00 a brand new snow blade that was just purchased never been used.

The bad- he said the rzr was not water tight he put a bunch of calk in every crack inside to help prevent water from coming in the cab. He added a section of plexiglass to the 1/2 windshield to make it a full windshield.

Took it for a ride seems to run well, but did notice some squeaking noises maybe suspension ? Then smelled coolant burning which was a tension clamp at the radiator which was fixed easy enough

I'm new to the forum never had a rzr yet but getting ready to pull the trigger. Is their any known issues that I should look at for body problems or known weak areas that I should pay attention to ?

great price and yes you will get water in they have drain holes in to let the water out ;-) the 570's i have heard are GREAT. but the price and miles on that unit sounds like a great deal in the midwest. If you dont buy it send it my way I can sell it in South dakota for 8500-9k depending on time of year

Rzr's are not meant to be water tight and even have drain holes in the floor. You do not want them water tight. When you wash the machine you would have 2" of water in the floorboard if it was water tight and no way to get it out unless you tipped the machine upside down.

I'm in the same boat on what to get but IMO for you it's a no brainier. Specially since you know the history of the machine.

I'm thinking I'll wait till the end of summer hoping there is either a sale on the 570 or maybe a deal on a used 800.

If you don't want it I got cash and my girlfriend is from Michigan and all her relatives are there and the deal would go smooth.Just an option for your wife's grandfather in case you don't buy it.
