I recently got a kirkey sprint car seat to " hold me in better" I'm paralyzed and it would be a lot better since it wraps around me, my question is how do I mount it in there and to what?modified? Anyone have pics? Thanks a lot for looking

Your not going to find a bolt on mount... You'll have to have some one custom fab your mounts...

on a scale of 1-10 that is a 2. - yes very easy.
If you are at THE Martinsville i would guess there is an industrial park near to the track with builders and fabricators of every sort. Bet if you pulled up they'd take care of you on the spot.

Case in point my old neon plant was in the industrial complex next to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We were eyesight of Carrol Shelby and Richard petty Exp.
Almost anything conceivable seemed to be around us. Pull up there and expect the same good treatment.
Just trying to encourage you.

For that seat (we have 4 or 5 out at the shop) I would take a different approach to the traditional RZR seat base. Similar concept yet different but still not all that difficult.

Re: Kirkey racing seat "sprint car seat"

Why not just bolt it to a stock seat base? Hope you plan to cut off the rib protectors on the seat looks like they would be a little rough on nyou bouncing around . At least reduce the size of them. i dont see why you couldn't just bolt them to a stock base. Bottom of the seat is flat so take the stock base and attach it then set the seat on top where it needs to be mounted reach under the front and mark with a sharpie. Take it out and line up the pieces drill the 4 holes , bolt together , install seat and go. sprint car seats are pretty much no layback so may have to make a shim for the front to lean it back to your liking maybe a piece of 1x1 square tubing? Sounds like an easy project for any fab guy.

Re: Kirkey racing seat "sprint car seat"

Well I'm in martinsville ind, I wish i lived there it would be easy, on the bottom of the seat there are 4 holes but not any that line up right with base or anything at that, I want a little tilt, it's outta are old sprint, should I have them build a base and weld it to the frame or? Not to many fab shops up here, thanks alot for the replys!

The ones they have are not flat rather ergonomic and basically fit the body and shape of your butt. My butt may be a little flat but theirs is round kinda. There were dimple die stamps here and there. Hard to adapt directly to a flat base. I suggest (4) round bosses from round stock welded to a modded flat base.
The mounts they have seem to be ears on the sides not underneath. I'd have to look closer. I'm know each car is custom fitted for each guy. His 9 yo has a mini. Inside cage gets cramped but allows room for a custom lean. Granted it is still upright of sorts but a few degrees either way aint gonna fly in a RZR cab. Also their legs are stretched.
I've look inside plenty of times and know enough not to try and squeeze in and play modified driver cause I'd have to wait till they get back to the shop to get me out and his St. Bernard would lick my face for sure.
Long winded but a quick release goes hand in hand w/theirs and OP may need one too.

Re: Kirkey racing seat "sprint car seat"

My PMs are blocked.
To the OP; do you want to drive to Peoria and let us try?
The fellers know stock car seats pretty good. I know about RZRs.
Understanding you are paralyzed and willing to give that the attention it deserves.
Cheap labor and materials.
Or ship the seat or something.
What is convenient for you?

Re: Kirkey racing seat "sprint car seat"

Here's our lowered seat bases, I run the same style Kirkey seat in my XP, we just drilled holes in the seat and with a extra washer in the passenger side to clear the gas tank it worked great. Then simply mounted the stock hard where to the seat base. They look so uncomfortable but when your riding in them but as long as you have suspension under you never notice the lack of padding. We have these in stock and ready to ship. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope this will help you out.
