Re: Belt cover

11's are known to leak on the back cover. pull it off and re-seal it. Also check the clamps on the rubber cvt intake boot. Mine were all very loose when i pulled it off to reseal it. Polaris uses garbage hose clamps

Re: Belt cover

Do I need any special tools to tear my rear cover off. I know I have to remove the primary and the secondary. Do I need a puller? Also what are the breather lines that have to be also relocated ? I never dd that yet. And that hose on top of the motor with the slit in it just replace it?

Re: Belt cover

You will need a puller for the primary, or you can use a some deep sockets and a 4 inch long 3/4 fine thread bolt. Do a search. Its easy. Secondary just slides off. All the vents should be extended, or use bellows. Rear diff, transmission, tcase, fuel tank, front diff, and the breather hose up top with the slit you can repalce or put a tee in it and run new hose up. Some guys are plugging the water pump weep hole too. also there is a vent hole in back of speedo that needs to be sealed up if you plan on going that deep.

Re: Belt cover

If you dont want to go the homemade route, HPD ( forum Vendor ) and others sell a 2 piece puller. Much easier to use. The long ones are a pain.

Re: Belt cover

That's awsome, hey thank u for all the pointers. I hate how cramped everything is around the clutch cover but no big deal. How dose the cover seal against the rear housing from factory dose it leak or just the back ?

Re: Belt cover

well mine seems to seal just fine with just the factory gasket. some guys are putting a little marine grease or dielectric grease on for some extra peace of mind. others are sealing it up with silicone. Ive often thought of doing that, but it will be a huge pain next time cover needs to come off.
