Rear diff or Transmission ?

Just purchased a 2010 rzr s and went to ride it last weekend and noticed it was real jerky pulling out and stayin at real low speeds so I put it back in the garage tore it apart and realized that both tear hubs were broke so I ordered new ones put them on today and that wasn't the problem and i tore the clutch cover off and every thing seems to be good in there so now I'm kinda frustrated any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Re: Rear diff or Transmission ?

The belt may look ok but could be wore out or hour glass shaped. You can measure it out with calipers of try a new belt. It is good to have a spare belt anyway. Just scrub the new belt with soap and water then scuff the clutch sheathes with scotch brite and clean them with some type of cleaner like alcohol or brake cleaner. Blowing the clutch out with compressed air is also a good idea. The get packed full of dust. Sounds allot like the clutch not engaging smooth.

Re: Rear diff or Transmission ?

Could be something in the secondary. Does the clutch look the same way when its in neutral and you rev it up? So when you bought the rzr it came with these problems? Did the owner tell you about the problems it had?

If you are driving on pavement it will be jerky because the diff is locked solid. You dont feel it much when in the dirt

Re: Rear diff or Transmission ?

ROCK-N-RZR is correct. If you're on asphalt or concrete its going to be jerky in turns. If you get the new international rear differential, it has a spool and solenoid locker that will allow the rear wheels to turn at different speeds...like an automobile.

Tell us more about how you knew the rear hubs were broken? Are these the hubs in the rear differential? The bearing carriers at the brake calipers? Need more info to provide you with items to look at.

Re: Rear diff or Transmission ?

Yeah it was like that when I bought it and didn't realize since it was on on a black top parking lot when I took it for the little test ride I realized wheel hubs were broke when I took it apart to see if mabe a cv joint was snapped cause thats kinda what it felt like and both wheel hubs were snapped where it slides into to wheel barring I understand that it is locked diff but my 09 stealth black didn't do this that's kinda why I even noticed it
