Fun trip to the atv park but broke tie rod couple questions

First had a great time with some friends at a local (2 hours away) atv park

Hit a jump and nose dived and broke my tie rod. so did I not have enough speed at the launch? I have jumped before and am fairly new to rzrs (within 4 months) always had good "luck" with my landings this time I was looking directly at the sand bar hoping my belts and roll cage would hold up in the roll. Luckily just broke a tie rod.

So tips on keeping the nose high? goose it at launch?

Next tie rod recommendations? found some heavy duty ones on ebay or OEM?

last would love to hear how you "patch something like this. The best i could think of was to use a tree and my winch lift it up pull the tire off and winch it up on the back of my buddy's 850xp polaris and gimp it back to camp.

If you care to browse our trip feel free its a bit long just threw up video and stills.. at 9:05 i hit the ramp and have a terrible landing if you want to watch and give advice...

My other buddy caught a tree and knocked out a headlight and broke some plastics on his "borrowed" polaris 500 ;-)

All tips and information is appreciated.

Way to small of a jump for a Rzr. That was more of a kicker then a jump.

Re: Fun trip to the atv park but broke tie rod couple questions

well as far as i know that is the rzr nature of "nose diving" on jumps my 11' rzr s le has the fox shocks and i have adjusted and adjusted both spring rates and the dampen/rebound screw but still dose the same nose dive, if the jump is a smooth take off (not like a short steep jump) it is not bad with jumping.
As for the tie rod i have not broken them but have "egg shaped" the outer tie rod where the bolt goes through, if that happens the outer part of the tie rod will fall off and scar up the caliper, i have limped home by using a flat steel washer that is just a hair bigger than the outer tie rod housing keeping it steerable.

My rule of thumb for jumping is the ramp needs to be longer than the rzr, if not the front tires are usually coming down before the rear launches and you lawn dart. Check out Racer Tech for heavy duty tie rods, they're pricey but worth the money.
