Tire PSI???

I'm from PA and I mostly do very rocky trail riding. What PSI do you guys run? I have the stock wheels and tires for now but I plan to upgrade to 14" wheels and bigger tires in a couple months.

Re: Tire PSI???

If you ride where it is very rocky, I would recommend that you stay away from 14" wheels. I wanted them for my RZR unti I saw how easy it was to chunk your rims and/or pinch a sidewall. As for your iriginal question, most people run around 8-10 psi. It depends on the brand and exact size of your tires as well. Less pressure (up to a point) increases traction but protects the tire less. More pressure makes it less likely that you will get flats.

Re: Tire PSI???

Stock 2012 50" LE at 8psi here. Works well for lost trails and the other rockville places I ride.

Re: Tire PSI???

I ran my 26" Tusk Trilobites (Big Horn knockoff) today at 6 psi. We did some rough trails, mud, hill climbs and fast riding and they felt great all day.

2012 RZR 800 LE Magnetic Metallic - RacerTech 2" lift, Makin Trax progressive springs, 1" SATV spacers, Polaris ESP, Polaris doors, 12" STI HD3 wheels with 27x9 BigHorns all around, Rear cab frame extension, Tractor Tunes stereo, and the list goes on and on....

I have itp ss312 14" rims with 26" bighorns. I ride in upstate NY so we are in the same terrain, i run 11 - 13 psi. But i still get pinch flats and sidewall tears like crazy, so much that im dropping back down to a 12" rim.

12in Rims, 26 Bighorns. Rocky riding. 11 front, 12 rear. So far, so good! We prefer 12in Rims also over 14in.

I'm running those same tires in those same conditions, but I run 10 psi front and back; no problems so far.

Cheers

Re: Tire PSI???

I run 90% rocks so I treat my RZR just like a rock crawler. Beadlocks and 3-4psi. If I'm going to just trail ride, hunt or cruise my property I kick it up to 12-14. I set mine up with tires and rims that will not pinch or cut easily.
