oil question

Ok ive done a search for the 800`s and not found much . My 09 800 has been buring a quart of oil every 500 miles. Did the motor rebuild and still having to add a quart every 500 miles. Is there another kind of oil or weight to try. I feel ive wasted money on a rebuild.

The type of oil has nothing to do with your problem.
Do a leakdown test/ compression test. You have engine trouble that was somehow not addressed with your engine rebuild.

Re: oil question

I guess I will ask this, whas it bored? did the specs come out proper, was it honed? did it clean up good and is it still in spec? new rings? that is one place it would use oil. the second coming to mind is the head. valve guides worn?

Re: oil question

If you are running syn oil, which it probably is if the dealer did it, I would try changing to dyno oil and see if it breaks in to where it wont use oil.
