Cheapest is a 2"lift, but because of the low quality stock springs, you will start to lose that clearance in short order.

The best long term fix, especially for 2011 and 12 is to upgrade your springs to MT King Springs for about $450.00, and go to a taller tire like the Maxxis Big Horn 26" tires. You will see a permanent lift of about 2" over the stock ride, and it will function flawlessly with no bind on axles and CV joints.

I bought new wheels, 12X7 with 4-3 offsets, went with 26X9X12 BH tires, never looked back.

Re: More Clearance

X2 with the springs and tires, the tires will give you realistic lift and clearance not like the lift kits, only issue is the horsepower you loose with the taller, heavier tires.

I ended up with about the same rotational mass by buying aluminum wheels and the Big Horn 2.0s

Actually think the machine is just a zippy as with the stock 25's, but the ride is ten times better.

Re: More Clearance

not true regarding above posts .. in theory makes sense but not in application.
i have 2011 s .. needed ride height.
elka stage 4 shocks on rig... first added makin trax springs. didn't help with ride height but my springs were not sagging. next i added 27" bearclaw htr's.
didn't help.. next i cranked in preload ... bucks ..bucks ... bucks. and dances never had this problem before..

tires are really a waste of money if only to use as a lift unless you move from 25" to 30" dominators or such..

to lift with stock springs...
you have to upgrade springs or it will just sag with a lift and add racertech 2 in lift kit..

preload will have negative impact on shocks and tires to lift again unless your making a huge change with regular rzr wont help.. with 50" you would have to add forward and rear a arms if you run anything more than 27" i think and 27" may require offset rims. ...
save yourself time, money and learn from others mishaps.

makin trax springs and racertech 2" lift..
you may have other responses on here about tires, shocks, blah blah but the only true way to achieve the gains you want without negative impact is ..

MTS and Racertech..
mts are not a lift and do not lift.. they only return to original ride height which was lost through cheap weak factory springs.
the MTS are amazing i have them. but they dont lift.. they set u at factory ride height which was lost. and if you crank in preload and hammer (((well you can't )) it bucks and dances... but at recommended preload from steve nothing works better..
i changed from elka duals to MTS and love the new springs.

Re: More Clearance

I have a 2012 800 S that with Fox Podiums. I have added the RT 2" lift and loaded my factory springs. It lifted mine almost 3". Most of it was factory sag! I rode 50+ miles last weekend at Royal Blue with this setup and it was great. I aslo disconnected the rear Sway Bar and changed everything. At this point, I am pleased with my factory shock spring ride...so I am up in the air as to the value add of the new springs(MTS or RT Dualrates). AS for the tire size... I agree it kills your HP. I have the Bighorns in 26" and they are the best I have ever run. I looked at putting the 27's on, but the ones i measured on the floor only had about 1/2" on the 26"!!! Not worth $450 IMO>

Here is the skinny. Already had the big horns on, they measure 27" tall, and had a RDC 2" lift, when noticing severe spring sag, I decided to order the springs.

I measured my true clearance prior to taking off the lift, had 12.5 inches.

Took off the lift, added Makin Trax Springs, took for a ride and remeasured, 11.5"

Figured that was a good trade off, rides and handles much better, and since I also put the ultimate 1/2" FUTV protection package on last summer, no more worries.

If you are riding stock suspension, and expecting to maintain 10" of clearance you will be disappointed badly. Ride behind somebody sometime who is riding a stock suspension on a standard rzr and you will notice they have barely 7" of clearance in the back.

Re: More Clearance

I have a 2010 50 inch rzr with 26" bighorns and I disconnected my sway bar and added highlifter springs to the front and I am getting 13" of ground clearance. The highlifter springs alone give me 1" more clearance.

Re: More Clearance

Clearance should be measured with the Rig full of People, Beer, Tools and what ever else you carry. Measuring Clearance with no weight in the Rig is non functional in my book. I am big fella, and I can walk up to any Rig and make it two inches taller by just lifting up on the front and rear bumpers and bringing in the Suspension. I can also use the big fella and climb in most Rigs and make it lose two inches, especially with factory springs. Makin Trax will eliminate the sag and keep the Clearance.

bradlineberry, you comment about MT Springs not lifting is wrong. When you load up a Rig and it does not sag two inches because of Springs, hence it has lifted two inches. Inches lost is inches gained when not lost.

Going from 25inch tires to 27 bighhorns will yield a inch in height. So your Comment about tires not adding lift is wrong also. And Bighorns run taller than similiar size tires also.

Re: More Clearance

I had a 2" lift on mine and it road like a brick.I took the lift off and put Fox shocks on and its the same height as with the lift. All the lift does is change your shock angle to make them stiffer.

Re: More Clearance

I forgot to note that I have a 1/2" FUTV skid system on mine, that makes 1/2" less clearance, and one full inch on my rockers where there is also 1/2" rock sliders.

So it looks like the tires and springs alone will yield a minimum of a 2" lift.
