motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

how maney of you guys ride with motorcycles and atvs ??
i was at a ride awhile ago and they let the cycles ride with the atvs . this was a poker run in the woods. my point !
the cycles where passing us comstantly spinnin mud in our faces , any where they could find a foot of room and zooom they fly by SCARED THE crap out of me a couple a times ...
i seen a vid a couple a years ago wit ha guy on a cycle passing a utv then the guys in the utv chase them and threaten to shoot the guys on the bike .. it was weird but after haveing it happen to me ,i was trying to hit these BUTT HEADS.
MY BAD ? OR THERES !
i told them they need to put numbers on there backs ,so id know who butt to kick in the parkin lot .. or am i just beeing an arsehole !!!!!!
the atvs would just blow by us in the bigg openings and make us eat dirt and dust too

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

not %100 sure on the answer but that would piss me off too but my fuse isnt the longest. i try to stay cool but sometimes.....kaboom i would say they should atleast wait for a little room. on the other hand if i was on the trail looking to haul ass and someone was goin slow in front of me i would want to pass asap. kinda like when my buddy with his rhino comes out with me. i never let him enter the trail 1st anymore

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

I do everything i can to show that I realize my RZR is a road hog and make allowances anytime there's an issue with someone on a bike or another off roader needs to get past. I go riding to go fast and have fun doing it. If I'm getting in someone's way and keeping them from enjoying the trail/road/whatever, I hope I come off as at least trying to get out of the way. That said, there are some people who love to antagonize those who aren't in their little "clique" .
My feelings are that we as a group of UTV riders/drivers need to promote the sport not denigrate the whole by responding to "tards" by being one.
But! if you through your actions endanger my family (i.e. grandkids) while out on the trail, I will do my best to crawl inside that shirt with you and we'll see who is alive after the shirt hits the floor.

Besides, you NEVER threaten to shoot someone. Shoot first and the threat is a foregone conclusion.

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

If your hogging the trail or driving slow then move over or expect others to spray you. Its like driving slow in the fast lane or the same speed as someone else in the lane next to you.
I myself wouldn't spray anyone on purpose but if I am slowing you down, go ahead and spray me just pass safely.

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

It does not matter what you are riding they should pass with caution at a safe place. I have had guys take me out on bikes trying to make a hair-brain pass. I feel if you are holding someone up get the hell out of the way. If they pass you and roost you catch them ....if you can and kick their butt.....lol once I know your there I will move over or signal to go by. You honk the horn at me on a trail ride you will never get by....

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

I ride dirt bikes and we typically run at speeds significantly faster than ATV’s and UTV’s. Normally I ride on trails not wide enough for the ATV’s and UTV’s but I sometimes end up crossing their paths. When I come up behind slower riders (on any toy) I am generally patient so they know I am back there. If they don’t notice I will rev the engine a bit just to let them know I am there. Generally they will then move over a bit to let me around. I think in some cases it offends the driver when I rev the engine (even though my only intention is to let them know I am there). I have even been behind vehicles that will not move over. In those cases I just pick a short open section and around I go. When I am with a group of bikes, sometimes passing a group of ATV’s can be interesting as they seldom look back and can be startled by our presence. I never intentionally “roost” someone I pass as we are all there for the same reason, just on different machines. As a rider, I hope all dirt bikers are courteous, as well as the guys on ATV’s and UTV’s.

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

When I rode bikes in my teenage years I wasn't curteuos to no one. I would pass by anybody that was too slow and never looked back...I use to pass by security and just throw a hand up and wave when Coalcreek first became a public ohv park---because I was riding the property way before then ..A dirtbike will out perform, and out go a quad or sidexside in just about ever situation except deep snow and ice...

Remember this old vid I found and posted a long time ago.. The only mistake this kid made was to have stopped and let bubba and jr give him an ear full--I would have been long gone laughing all the way: This thing still cracks me up - I live here and still caint hardley understand what their saying

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

Well, I have yet to run into any other riders in the Canadian wild. There's a pretty damn huge area we get to ride

14 scrambler 1000, 28 mega mayhems on 14" sixr wheels, qsc clutched on hardest setting
14 Ace, 26" pro comp extremes on 14" msa m17 elixer wheels, total blast!
And a 600rwhp 03 powerstroke on 37" mud grapplers to haul it all
13 fx4 a/p on 35"grapplers, 6.2l

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

i have no issue with riders wanting to pass us while in the rzr. we ride our sport quads very fast which is what we enjoy and get a thrill out of. last year at an event the trails were crowded with bikes, utvs and slower quads and it seemed nobody wanted to move over even after we rev'd the engine to let them know we wanted by. then when we did find a side trail that allowed us to pass the 6 vehicle train they threw us the finger. made me mad because we are just out there to have a good time too and are not trying cause any trouble. oh well just a part of riding i guess

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

If you watch that video close I think those ass holes knew he was behind them on the bike and wanting around, looks like they tried to speed up a little and started playing road hog. I think the guy past them in a rather safe way. Just some dumb red necks didnt like the thought of someone passing them. I live here also so I know lol

Re: motorcycles , atvs.and side x sides

Whoo hoo, I love it when some one passes me.It just tells me what I did wrong. Its just the way it is around here --Its give and take and part of the sport. Makes me want to ride bikes again but I'm too old for it, my body caint take it any more....

Looking back at the vid, at 2:47 I would of jump to the right and passed by those rednecks in a heartbeat....on my vintage Honda CR125.
