Awesome video, straightforward and very helpful. Thanxs very much for putting the effort into this video project.

Is that Super ATV's sprague, H-clips and armature plate?

WOW, that was an excellent video! I'm also envious of your workshop! I lost mine, had to enclose the garage to make an apartment, now I work on my stuff under an awning

Awesome video!

It shouldn't take much more than the time he cut out of it

I'd say 3 hours tops if it's your first time wrenching on the rzr, but not a newbie to wrenching.

Re: Sprague Carrier Replacement - VIDEO

Thanks guys. It was a fun little project. The parts are from SuperATV. I tried it out yesterday and 4X4 is back! I switched in and out several times and it works like new.

Funny thing, the hardest part was getting the steering knuckle off. At first I thought I should just loosen the pinch bolts and the ball joint should just slide off. So I'm spraying it with penetrating fluid and banging on it with a hammer for 15 minutes to no avail. YouTube was no help or even this forum. Everyone just seemed to skip by that part. Turns out everyone else figured it out without thinking. lol. Just REMOVE the bolt and jiggle the knuckle and it popped off. DOH!

It was my first time wrenching on the RZR so there was a little bit of a learning curve there. Nice to find out everything is metric. I also put on some LTR450 shocks on the front and lifted the rear. With the shocks and rear lift, it's 1.5 inches higher now. Nice. I was surprised how nice it rides with the better shocks and the front sway bar disconnected. Let the mods begin!

Re: Sprague Carrier Replacement - VIDEO

HaHa....I went through the same thing with the ball joints when I replaced my A-arm bushings, I loosened the bolts and banged, then finally removed the bolt completely. I've been wrenching for years, but never had to remove my front end suspension before.

With the plastic carrier gone, what is the next weak link?

That's a good question and I don't have the answer. I assume you're asking because with that part now fortified, the next failure will be something more catastrophic and expensive. I don't think Polaris designed the plastic part to intentionally fail to protect other components though. It was more likely a cost consideration. The reason I think that is because the current models now have metal carriers. They had to respond to the high failure rate of that part by designing a better one.
