2019 ride command update issues

Hi all. Recently just purchased my second rzr and a 2019 xp4 1000 ride command. I have been trying to update the software and maps with no success. I bot a new scandisk 32gb flash drive, formatted to exFAT, installed the latest software and eastern Canada base map (17gb). Pluged USB into the bike and it doesnt seem to even pick up the USB! Tried a second usb, unsure the brand, and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Bike came with continental US maps which arent much good east coast of Canada. Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you are on the correct page to download. Different page for 5 button and 7 button. Made mistake of trying to use the 7 button maps on a the 5 button and had the same experience you are.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have the 7 button and been downloading from the 7 button choices and selecting eastern Canada. I noticed the file names when downloaded are .mapdata. Is this the norm?

Is the download unpacking before moving to the USB. Files are compressed. It auto unpacks on my Mac. No ideal what happens on Wndows.

Files arent in folders. Had 2 files only on drive, software.SMU, eastern Canada base map.mapdata. I am doing it on windows base system. Will try another USB drive, the one I used was 32Gb scan disk from Walmart for $17.

Re: 2019 ride command update issues

Make sure noting else in on drive. If you trash a file on drive, empty trash or it is still on drive. Map file should read trails.mapdata and should be a EXE file. At least that is what is still on the drive I last used on my 5 button for map update.

eastern Canada base map.mapdata does not look right. To long of a name. Try changing the name to just map.mapdata.

Re: 2019 ride command update issues

OK. I downloaded the files then copied to a flashdrive. When I drag and drop the files on the flashdrive, I get this: FuriousORV_MY18.1_2923023_20180702a.pv1 This is the software update from July 2/18.

I get this: TrailData.mapInstall for the Aug 19/2019 trial update. Bold is mine to help them stand out.

Those are the files the console is looking for. They are ZIP files and have to run through something to uncompress them. It takes place automatic when I drag them to the flashdrive on my Mac.

The actual file name I am downloading is eastern_canada.mapdata and is 16.8GB. Downloading now to a folder on my computer and will try just dropping unto the USB after. It isnt a zip file, st least dont appear to be. I followed all of the steps on ridecommand website as well.

The software update is ORS7A9.2R1926A.swu. this is July 2019 update. Going to try this on a couple other USB and see if I can't at least get that to work...

Thanks guys.

No luck. I have now tried 3 different random USB sticks and tried only the software update and nothing. The lights in the USB sticks wont even light up. I havent tried it with music yet. I did have the dash all apart to wire in lights and switches, I am going to pull the dash off and ensure I didnt unplug anything...

Problem solved...6 pin plug from the USB drive to the monitor wasn't pushed in and snapped all the way. Fell out when I tugged slightly on it. Pushed in, snapped in and read the USB! Thanks guys!!
