Ok guys looking to see if anyone on this forum is towing a 4 seat rzr with a 7x14 enclosed trailor? If so how tight is the fit. With or without a v nose. Looking to buy one asap

I have an 8.5 wide and have plenty of space to get out and get around both sides to strap it down.

Only downside to a wider trailer is visibility if you don't already have wider tow mirrors.

They also make tow mirrors that snap right on to your existing mirrors for most trucks. I bought a set for a ram 1500 for fairly cheap and they work great.

From experience, get the trailer larger than what you think you need or most likely you will be buying another. Length is the first thing. Is 14' long enough? The 4 seat is over 12' with no bumpers. Figure the equipped machine + additional space for ease of tie down and some room for storage. 14' sounds pretty tight if you have bumpers. If you were to upgrade to a 4 seat Pro at some point, it will be an even longer machine. Same with a Can Am. And both are not stepped in on the sides as much as the XP1000 so getting in and out in a 7' trailer will be a lot harder. A few more $$ now for something a little bit larger is a heck of a lot cheaper than having to upgrade in a few years and spend thousands.

I had a 18' X 7' snowmobile trailer (so 23' with the V) and hauled a XP1000 and full sized utility quad. No issues with the width. It was tight but there is still about 8" on a side between the wall and tire. That said, I replaced it with a 102" wide car hauler so we could haul 2 RZRs. It is a lot nicer for moving around in the trailer but not truly necessary. Just depends on your situation, what you are comfortable towing.

Good luck!

Seven feet is not enough. The door width is less. I am 66”-67” wide and barely fit between the cables for the door. The next one I get will be 8’ wide. I have a 7x19 v nose and a 17 xpt. It takes up a fair amount of space in there. We convert it to sleep in after the machine is out of it, so all of the camping stuff rides in there too.

i bought a 7X16 for my 4 seat turbo and have plenty of room to get out and walk out of trailer. I kinda hug the passenger side of trailer when im pulling in. If your 500lbs i can see you having a issue.

its loaded up now and i can take a few pictures for you if that would help you decide.

I went with a 8 1/2X16 V nose 7' tall opening. The extra 3 feet in the V allows me to take my motorcycle along.
The extra width to me is a must to allow space to get around the RXR XP1000.
I live in CO and do not have inside storage so the trailer protects the RZR.
I use the mirror extensions that attach to my Yukon mirrors to see around the trailer.
Pleased with the set up.

Greyhoundman - I see you are towing your enclosed trailer with Jeep GC. What engine do you have in it and how does it handle towing the enclosed? We just bought a ‘19 GC High Altitude with the air suspension and 5.7l Hemi. I currently have a flatbed aluminum trailer for our 4 seat Rzr, but I would love to go the enclosed route before long. I know the GC is rated to tow 7,400 lbs, but I’m curious as to how your does. I’d love to have a diesel pickup to pull an enclosed, but that’s not going to happen for a number of reasons. Thanks for any input you can provide!

I also have a 5.7 and it does great towing and has plenty of power, fully loaded my trailer is around 5000lbs. You will likely need to add a brake controller (mine was already prewired), I went with a remote mount controller where all you see is the dial to adjust the brake % and then hid that inside the pocket in front of the shifter. With the trailer brakes it stops great had a couple oh-shit stops where I was cut off and it stopped almost as quickly as without the trailer. I do use a weight distribution hitch on my trailer but have never had any sway issues been in crosswind up to 30mph and did fine. I typically tow in sport mode and then use the paddle shifters to adjust as necessary at highway speeds typically 5th for mild hills 4th for very steep hills, 6th or 7th for flat and 8th is useless for anything other than downhill with a tailwind.

The biggest downside for me coming from an open aluminum trailer to an 8.5x18 with an extra foot of height is getting abysmal gas mileage while towing, I average 8.5 mpg towing the enclosed trailer at 70-75. When going near the same area to hike with out the trailer and driving roughly the same speed I average near 23 mpg. I don't feel too terrible about the towing MPG had a buddy borrow my trailer to haul 2 street bikes for a vacation and he got equally poor MPG in a 2017 F150 V8 he got around 9 MPG.

I also have an F-150 but with the eco-boost 3.5 and a v nose 7x14’ enclosed trailer, I don’t have any problems straping it down. I added extra tie downs inside and I have plenty of room to get in and do the front straps

Gas mileage for me is about 10-12 depending on wind which is my luck that I have most of the time here in Vegas. But like mentioned before it’s less of a factor at 65-70. Heading north to Utah the speed limits are 80 mph and sometimes you have to do it but it’s nuts and I am way more comfortable at slower safer speeds

Greyhoundman - Thanks for the input. I definitely plan on adding a brake controller as the Jeep is prewired for it. I used an Equalizer hitch on the RV had had several years ago - I think they are great & will probably go that direction again. The crappy gas mileage doesn’t surprise me at all - kind of to be expected - especially at speeds over 70 mph. Thanks again & safe towing!

I have an 8.5x20 for my XP4 and I wouldn't go any smaller. I ended up putting cabinets in the front for gear/tool storage. With that, there's still a comfortable amount of space to walk all around the machine, tie it down, etc. You could get away with an 18 ft with the same setup or a 16 ft with no cabinets. But I wouldn't go with a 14 ft as that essentially gives you no room to tie it down, store gear, etc.

This thread has me thinking. I think this winter I need to look for an enclosed trailer to accommodate more toys (especially in the winter) I'd like to fit my Road Glide & XP 1000 in at the same time. I'm thinking a 7.5' x 18' (using the V) or a 7.5' x 20' trailer.
