Why was the 2020 thread deleted?

Was that really necessary? There was good debate in there about Rzr's in general versus everything else.

Re: Why was the 2020 thread deleted?

I agree that just the pictures could have been deleted. I think the cat is out of the bag at this point anyway. There are videos all over YouTube about it. But I get it. I would imagine someone is probably going to lose their job or get slapped with a lawsuit for taking those pictures. After seeing the new RZR I am personally VERY anxiously awaiting the Kawi release...

Naw. They know it's ugly. They leaked them on purpose to help dealers clear out old inventory. LOL

Re: Why was the 2020 thread deleted?

Removing the thread is kind of bogus!

The pictures must have hit a nerve...I just didn't realize that this forum was owned by Polaris...I thought it was privately held open public forum. I thought threads were only deleted if there was verbal abuse stuff going on.

At least there should have been an explanation.

Chris

Note to mods, I didn't quote the pic so you will have less work to do when you delete it.

From the looks of that picture those are not Turbo machines but the suspension looks pretty mean.

Re: Why was the 2020 thread deleted?

Every year when Polaris has a new big release pictures of it mysteriously get leaked a week before the big reveal. The pictures get posted on line and then are taken down. Gives everyone a glimpse of what is to come and build the hype.

The leaked pictures go for other manufactures as well. I am sure there will be a picture of the new Kawi before the big reveal.

Re: Why was the 2020 thread deleted?

Sorry Guys, But we seem to go through this every year. Polaris contacted us along with most other major media outlets and requested that we not publish illegally acquired photos of their new line up.

We as well as most other Media outlets respected their request. I tried by first sending a pm to members asking them to respect Polaris request. Most of them kept Posting them over and over again. So the thread was pulled .

And as in the past, they can now turn their hostility towards me. Polaris along with all the major SXS manufacturers have the right to protect the releases of their new products, All the information on the New Models will become public July 28th

Most of the members that have been around a while know me know i have always gone to bat for our members and our sport.

And most have seen that Polaris has always gone above and beyond to help our members.

Some will appreciate that and some will not, I have seen and learned a lot doing this for the last 10 years.

Re: Why was the 2020 thread deleted?

Thank's Frank!!!

Went through something similar back in 1996. Chrysler was coming out with the new Dodge truck.

I got some of the first pictures of the new trucks at our dealership. Our dealer also owned an RV dealer. Chrysler had 3 new Dodge trucks and wanted to attach trailers to them for testing up I-70.

We put hitches on them, wired brake controllers and loaned them 3 new travel trailers.

Chrysler said I could take pictures but, if they ever found one posted anywhere or any description, they would sue me until I was poorer than dirt and then go after the dirt as well.

As an employee, yes. But if a customer just happened to be on the lot and took a pic, there wouldn't be squat they could say.

I have to think someone somewhere in the perfect place at the ideal time grabbed a pic.

Those pictures belong to the internet now, there is no getting them back. I think censorship only digs deeper into the Streisand effect.
