Just picked up my 2019 XP4 Turbo on Saturday and I've managed to put a whopping 14miles on it Sunday afternoon in my Dad's open field zipping around breaking it in below 1/2 throttle. Here are a few initial impressions from someone coming up from a S4 900.

- The power, Im trying to stay below 1/2 throttle and in low range and a do a proper break in, but I still managed to easily turn portions of my Dad's grassy field into "dirt tracks" with the rear tires, even in the 4 seater the rear wheels will come around without effort, though I do need to air down the tires from the dealer. Can't wait to try out high range!

- Low range limiter is a bit of a bummer in stock form, it appears to be speed limited to 30-35mph, which this thing can do just by breathing on the throttle, first time I unloaded it from the trailer, my Dad and I took off out across his field in low range (was told to break the belt in in low range for 25miles) I thought there was something wrong. As soon as I gave it some gas, it felt like the engine died and I wasn't "flooring it", maybe 1/3 to 1/2 throttle. But turns out, this thing just gets to the 30mph limiter so fast, it feels like something is wrong. Feels like they could have bumped that to at least 40-45mph, but maybe a tune can help with that. However, the turbo does crawl just fine at slow speeds, just as smooth as my S4 900, just controlling that pedal is the hard part

- The "turbo glow", backed it off my trailer Sunday night and took a quick trip down the neighborhood street, when I got back to the garage, I noticed a light coming from the engine area. Kind of scary and cool at the same time.

- The turning radius, coming from a S4 900, I definitely noticed a wider turning radius, I found myself doing school bus steering around some corners my S4 900 would have made just fine.

- The color schemes grow on you, the dealer only had a pearl matte in stock, so it was either take the white or.... *GASP*... wait.... for him to find a titanium one. Anyways, I now like the white better than the titanium

Needless to say, Im excited and happy with my purchase, just thought I'd toss a few intial impressions out there for anyone else pondering the decision.

Here's a pic of it just off the trailer from the dealer and another pic of my future design concepts, decided to capitalize on the pearl with white roof and lower doors and hope to find a matching vinyl decal so I can extend the stripes down the door. I've already ordered a few sample colors.
I am new to the SXS world. Recently bought the same machine as yours. 2019 xpt 4. Less than 25 miles on mine started making a chirping noise. 5 miles later the clutch blew apart. Currently sitting back at the dealership waiting for parts. Any one else have any problems with their machines

My suggestion would be to check out the new Turbo S Velocity. I really like the grey/graphite color and you could add some red accessories and it would look really good. With the velocity you would get the beefy drive train components and better suspension without all the fancy electronic components. I have a Turbo S and love it. It's by far the best sxs I have ever owned.

That's scary, but on the bright side, at least its still under full warranty. Were you following any kind of break in routine? I was told to stop every 15mins and let it cooldown for the first 25-50miles and not to go over 1/2 throttle.

19 xpt xpt4 and turbo s are seeing a primary clutch issue. I have a 2 friends that bought 2019s this year and both with the same issues. One is a xpt 2 seat and the other is a turbo s velocity. The velocity had 13 miles on it and the xpt had 20 miles on it. Both had the bearing in the primary spider take a dump. It then spit the bearing out and tossed it around the belt case. The dealership warrantied everything on both. But it's becoming a known issue only on the 19s for primary clutch failure at very low hours.

Thanks for the info, my ride is at 14miles now, is there anything I can inspect myself? Im capable of pulling the clutch cover and the belt, but I don't have a clutch puller.

I came to the same conclusion as others stated; best option for my family was the XP4T. Looked at the X3, wife couldn't see out of it, way too long and expensive although I liked some of the options on it and it looks cool. Turbo S too big and $. Put 300 miles on the first weekend, everyone loved it, it's big but a blast on open trails. Stays right next to all the 450 racing quads and Raptor 700's...with 4 people in it! Couldn't ask for more... except better color schemes.

Re: Xp, xpt or ??

The 2019 white is really growing in me. These machines have enough black plastic as is, and I like the contrast. White accessories seem to look the best to me. I've ordered a few color samples of 3M vinyl wrap to add some more accents. Here's mine with the roof and doors, I photoshopped the stripes for now for reference.

Now that the Talon is offering a turbo, I may have to rethink this

A talon r with the warranty voiding turbo kit will get you to 27000 dollars for 165hp and 28" tires. I can go to my local dealer and buy a s velocity for 21400 or a s dynamix for 24400. The math just doesn't jive for Honda. Way way over priced. A talon r or x needs to be priced closer to a 1000s or 1000xp that it's competing with. 21k for a talon r that makes 104hp and is on 28" tires is absurd in my eyes.

Re: Xp, xpt or ??

That does seem over priced. I thought the turbo was a Honda accessory though, it voids the warranty? I haven't really looked that far into it

Re: Xp, xpt or ??

I donít think the Talon makes sense for the guys who want/need a turbo-charged vehicle, or equivalent power. Itís just not going to be a popular dune/desert car. Where it WILL shine is as a trail machine. Itís a solid chassis, with good suspension, good ergonomics and visibility, and it makes up for the short-comings of the YXZ with the low range and DCT. I am by no means going to jump ship anytime soon, but as an east coast trail rider, I will likely go to the Talon X for my next machine unless Polaris really does more for the guys that ride trails and are perfectly happy with 110hp.

The turbo kit is going to be sold by Jackson racing at the Honda dealership and as far as I read it can be installed by the dealership as a option. It will also come with a dct trans tune that will let you run 30 and 32" tires. As of now the warranty will be voided as far as I have reading.

How many Honda’s you see running the Hammers?
I used to hear the same thing from Toyota FJ owners about Jeeps. Oh, the Toys are so much more reliable! Really? Because I rarely saw an FJ on the trails I ran in my rockcrawler, almost all Jeeps.
There is nothing wrong with the Honda, I hope they work out well, but comparing Polaris reliability to previous Honda’s which had no “sport” SXS is ridicules.
A couple few years back I was considering a home da pioneer 1000-5 which is a dct 1000. After much time on forums it became apparent how problematic these Honda are. Tales of burnt clutch packs, water injestion, and unbearable underseat heat among other issues quickly shunned me. My xp4 has been 100% issue free, 3rd year now. Awesome buggy.
