Slow speed steering issues

Hi all, I recently purchased a new 2018 xp4 1k. I have noticed that when I want to turn sharp going very slowly, for example turning around on a trail, the front tires don't "bite" and the machine just kind of drifts in the direction I am turning if that makes sense. It almost feels like there isn't any weight on the front tires. Could this be an issue with the settings on the suspension? I haven't messed with anything, or is this just normal. BTW the car turns just fine when at speed.. Thanks for your assistance!

Re: Slow speed steering issues

Sounds pretty normal, the turning radius on a 4 seat isn't optimal to begin with, and you have to turn it with the throttle pretty often. At slow speed on loose soil the rear tends to push the fronts through the dirt

Re: Slow speed steering issues

It's a symptom of the locked rear axle. That's another reason I like the Turf Mode on my 'Trail

The rear wheels are both trying to push forward at the same speed, so one of them has to slide to make the turn.

Re: Slow speed steering issues

If you have Bighorn tires I would also say that is a symptom or known downside of them. They aren't the best at tracking and tend to push while cornering. It happens at higher speeds as well.

For me that's probably the biggest issue with the tread design.

I have noticed that the Bighorns are not that great for sideways traction as well. They seem to slide down into the ruts a little too easily for my liking. I don't know why I have them on all 4 of my machines??? Just keep forgetting about it I guess. Or, 'The devil you know'...

Re: Slow speed steering issues

Pit it in AWD and the problem almost goes completely away at speed or slow. At least thatís my experience. My XP handles much better in AWD.
