Particle Separator???

Does anyone have pics of a particle separator mounted? A lot of the pics from the old threads have been deleted. Also if you mount it low and the dust blows toward a cooler in the bed does it tend to kick back into the cab? Not worried at all about the bed or cooler getting dirty but don't want more dust/dirt in the cab. I would like to mount it low but if this is an issue I would consider mounting it high.

Re: Particle Separator???

Pm me your email and I will email you over some pics of my install. I am at my limit here so can't post any new pics. I installed mine under the roofline centered between the seats. I did the reroute kit so that I was not dumping dust in my bed. I only rode once without the reroute and I didn't notice anything blowing back into the cab, though the bed was definitely dirty which I didn't love, hence the reroute.

Mine is mounted low and no issues with dust blowing inside. It doesn't blow out clouds of dust. You will see a little bit of dust on your ice chest but really no more than is there from riding in DIRT. Mount it wherever wotks with your cage, gear, and visual preference. I am maxed on pics here too but same offer you can pm email and ill email pics. The S&B does work.

Re: Particle Separator???

I have mine mounted low. No extra dirt in the cab. The outlet on the S&B also blows into my box in the bed, still no issues you are worried about.

Colorado Re: Particle Separator???

i,ve seen the s & b particle separator
and i was very impressed just how much dust they divert
in fact i bought one
i am yet to install the kit it comes with
i do want to mount it high so the intake peeps over my roof
cutting down the noise from the blower
i also bought the extension mount bracket kit
so i can achieve this
again i have not installed the kit yet, i am wanting input from any body who has used the extension hardware kit & what they think? if it will support the particle separator or rattle loose?
or should i be considering fabbing up some alternative hardware
thanks

Re: Particle Separator???

I have the extension kit on mine for a different reason I have a roof that slants down in the back so I needed it lower. I had to have the kit to get it to fit. I have had it on for about 800 miles has not come loose yet. It has no rattles on mine.

Re: Particle Separator???

I donít notice any dust from mine either. Only had one real trip with it. Was super dusty and windy though. It did a excellent job. Filter looks brand new after 200 miles

Re: Particle Separator???

Not the greatest picture of the separator, but it's mounted on the lower bar. No dust blows back into the cab from it as far as I can tell.

I carry a Dewalt tool box (D30 I believe) and an Engle25 Cooler in my bed behind/below the separator. Also, I carry a waterproof bag with a variety of gear on top of the tool box. As long as the separator isn't blocked everything is just fine.

I also have a switch mounted on my dash that allows me to cut it off whenever I want. If it's not dusty, or if we stay far enough back, I turn it off. And the switch is also nice when you pull up to your riding buddies and can cut it off to hear better.

Re: Particle Separator???

I really want to know the big question.. I've been told that the noise is ridiculous. Can y'all be honest about how loud it is?

It seems loud when you turn the key but with the motor running its really not that loud. With helmets or headsets you wont hear it. In Cali helmets required and good safety item anyway.

I have no problem with the fan noise. The S&B works perfect.
