Kid car seats?

My daughter is two and were heading to the dunes to ride the Xp for the first time. Question is... Do any of you ever strap a car seat in your rzr? And how does it seem hold up? Were going to go buy her a helmet today so i didnt know what else i might need or just maybe some tips! Thanks

Go to Ebay and select (Polaris RZR Kids Custom Suspension / Booster Seat ) they go for $ 399.00 . A guy had them and said they work great. Hope you have fun with family.

Re: Kid car seats?

The car seats work really well for the little tykes. The after market boosters seats would probly be to big for a 2 yr old.

Re: Kid car seats?

Two is probably too small for the custom boosters. I just used our car seat and used a ratchet strap through the seatbelt hole and around the seat base where it bends up to the back. It's more secure than in the car.

If you do buy the booster just go to sidebysidesports.com and buy the twisted stich booster. I have two of them and they are great. 179.00 plus shipping. Ive seen the same seat advertised here for 299.00.

Re: Kid car seats?

Just used a standard carseat. Used the seat belt like strapping it in a car. Works fine. Might not want to switch it back to the car for the ride home though. Gets pretty muddy.
My sons about 20 months old here.

I bought a new car seat and mounted it to a polaris seat base $80 and love it just snaps in like your normal seats

Re: Kid car seats?

Thanks for all the tips and advice. Another Question. Do kids seem comfortable while wearing a helmet in the car seat? Just not sure while wearing a helmet if the seat pushes there neck down at all. Then again i guess it all depends on what kind of seat you have.

but then you are relying on the stock plastic clip to hold it in instead of being belted to the seat via the frame

Re: Kid car seats?

I use the prp child seat, came with kid harnesses and the whole bit. My daughter is 3 and she fits in it great. I have not put it in the rzr, that is in our sand rail but i am sure it would work for the rzr as well.

Re: Kid car seats?

We put in a seat where the child gets big enough and you take the back off so it is only a booster. We left the back on for my 4 year old so the blet holds her good. she loves it it and no helmet problems. Kmart about 50 bucks

Re: Kid car seats?

If you have ever taken a seat base apart it is steel on steel with a plastic handle. Safety is my # 1 concern with my three year old son.

Re: Kid car seats?

We used one of the higher end car seats and strapped it down tight worked perfect on the RZR 4 and on the 900XP.

Something is better than anything in my book, they are just too small to really ride in the seat by themselves even if you have 5 point belts.

Re: Kid car seats?

We have a twisted stich bench seat in our rzr. This past weekend the wife and I put my 2 year old in between us on the bench. We have a 3rd harness in the middle to strap him down. He loved it and it was awesome that all 3 of us could ride together.

what did you strap it to? I hope not the seat as its not designed to take a load from a hit...seats are to sit in, they have nothing to do with keeping you strapped down in the event of a crash...we are crossing this problem with the rzr4 I'm building right now

Re: Kid car seats?

Where were you able to find a helmet for a two-year-old and are their necks strong enough at that age to support it?
