Re: Kid car seats?

I did find a small helmet and they gave me extra padding for it. It did seem a bit heavy when he was younger, but @ 3 1/2 now it fits better and he can control it more. I ride slow and tend to put a hand on his head when we get to something rougher.

I got the same thing, my 2 year old daughter loves it. But she doesn't like being put into the harnesses, although after we start moving she's happy. It's nice to all go at once and I feel safer with her right next to my wife and I. We also use a small bicycle helmet, I would like to find a childs MX helmet if they made one, she keeps trying to put mine on.

Re: Kid car seats?

My girl is only 15 months and we put her in a car seat with a DOT helmet and helmet horse collar. The horse collar keeps the helmet off her sholders and stops the head bob. Be bought the collar at our local motorcycle shop.

Re: Kid car seats?

My Grandson has a BMX full face kids helmet that weighs slightly more than an adult mountain bike helmet. Really easy on the little neck but plenty strong for big bumps.
This isn't a good picture but apparently you can sleep in it too.

Re: Kid car seats?

I use a standard car seat installed just like you do in a car. Only problem I found was the carseat was loose due to how far back the seat is. I installed the OEM seat slider on the passenger seat so that, once the car seat is installed, I can slide the seat forward and firm up the car seat.....

Re: Kid car seats?

I use a car seat in my RZR4, attaching the top belt to the roll bar, and the side attachments to the holes left by the stock seat belts. I removed the back of the stock seat to give my boy a little more leg room. It worked pretty well.

I'm using a ski helmet (very light) and some goggles. He doesn't like all of the gear on his cute little head, but after we start moving, he is all smiles

Re: Kid car seats?

I just recieved my Twisted Stitch rear bench seat for my RZR 4. I want to put a car seat in the back middle for my son, any ideas on strapping the seat in? I haven't installed it yet since it just can today.

Re: Kid car seats?

They do make great car seats but my issue is securing a car seat in the RZR.

Re: Kid car seats?

You can use the RZR seat mount and bolt it to the seat from twisted stitch, that it what we did.

Re: Kid car seats?

I just ratchet strapped a booster seat to the RZR seat then buckle the seat in. Works great for a 3-4 year old.. Don't see why a car seat wouldn't work for one a little younger. I didnt really take mine on rides till he was almost 4. He would just ride around our property when he was younger. Got to remember when there real little they can't hold their head steady so good. I'm also one of those that think if a little one is strapped into a car seat they don't need a helmet. I think the extra weight on their little neck does more harm then good. With 5 points and a high back car seat their head can't really go anywhere to hit something.

Isn't is it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?
Why do we drive on the parkway and park in the driveway?

Re: Kid car seats?

I use a regular car seat. get it in tight. You will be fine

For the OP, your kid will want to wear a helmet, or your ticket that the nice officer will give you will take the fu out of it!

I would recommend checking the rules and regs before going, the rules for the kids have and seem to still be changing,

NJcraddock
got to your local bike dealer, and start cramming your little ones head into helmets, they make them small. Mine was wearing a helmet at 1.5y/o

You will have fun!!
