PRP Universal Spare Tire Mount

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has experience with this spare tire mount (or could recommend a similar one). My wife and I recently purchased a 2017 Gold LE RZR and are in the process of putting on the complete Polaris Barricade cage system. Wanting to keep the cargo area free, but still wanting to carry a spare tire, I found this: https://www.prpseats.com/product/uni...re-tire-mount/
Thinking about mounting it on the rear horizontal bar of the cage extension, between the tail lights. It says it works for the front tire, but I'm wondering if it will fit other sizes as well. For now I'm looking for a used tire/wheel, but down the line would like to run a 30x10-14 tire on a 14x7 wheel (would run all 5 this size).

Thank you for the input/advice!
Scott

Re: PRP Universal Spare Tire Mount

Am I reading this correctly you want a spare tire to hang off the back and make the rzr longer?

Most mounts state front tire because you can run a front on the rear. But cannot run a rear rim on the front. A rear rim is wider and will hit when you turn.

Yes, you are correct. I'd like to carry it that way to keep the cargo area free and still carry a spare tire without it being on top or blocking visibility rearward.

Thank you for the clarification! I was wondering if a front wheel would work on the rear. It makes sense to me now!

I am not a fan of single point roll cage attachment points like you posted. Tires are heavy and momentum gets them moving. Eventually they move and rattle.

Check out UTV Giant. They have one that does what your looking for. I like that it connects in several points so it won't move on you.

Re: PRP Universal Spare Tire Mount

I have a rear bumper spare tire mount on my XP900, and when I drive fast over the whoops, it bottoms my King shocks out! Once I take the tire/wheel off, I can haul ass again! I was amazed how much that tire affected the suspension at high speeds.
